Located about 10 minutes walk from the train station, and 5 minutes to the main square, very close to the cathedral and on a quiet street. The rooms are more like small apartments, with a small kitchen-diner area which led on to the bedroom, which had a couple of armchairs and a coffee table. Everything worked, (including a good Internet connection) and was very clean. Breakfast was good, (cereals, breads and pastries, and some cooked dishes).
Probably the only negative from my point of view is that there was no in-room safe, but you can leave valuables with the Reception desk which are placed in a sealed bag which you personally sign when sealing.
The hotel is a good, practical choice if travelling to Brno.

The hotel is cosy, clean, in a quiet area. The beds are perfect, the room on the 5th floor rather small and a bit warm.
The breakfast has enough variety and the staff is friendly. Hotel is 15 minutes walk from train station and 5 minutes to spilberg.

We had a lovely short break (three nights) here, pre-booking through Expedia. Had Room 12 - a clean and spacious, high-ceilinged "superior" overlooking the street, with separate small kitchen/dining area and a good bathroom. Furnishings are Ikea style and there's plenty of storage and seating. For about £55 a night, including a good hot and cold breakfast buffet, we felt it was excellent value. Room was cleaned and towels changed every day and all the staff we encountered were helpful and spoke good English. It was a short but uphill hike into town, very close to the cathedral and surrounding park. The only downside, as other reviewers have noted, was the lack of air conditioning: it was very hot at night (early July) even with the fan on all night and the windows open. Also, avoid eating the tiny bits of chocolate which look like freebies but turned out to cost more than a large icecream in town! But all in all a good experience and no hesitation in recommending.

Stayed here with my 2 adult sons. We had a suite which comprised 2 rooms with single beds off a central kitchenette. Comfortable with plenty of space. Very good en-suite with shower. Although there was a fan in 1 room, hotel would benefit from air conditioning. Reception staff were amicable and spoke good English. Breakfast was buffet style with good choice of cold and hot. A modest sized hotel that, like Brno itself, goes about its business in an efficient but untouristy way.

Clean, cozy, comfortable. I stayed in a new spacious suite with a kitchenette.
The location is nice. You can get to the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul and other sightseeings in 5-10 minutes by feet.
The neigbourhood is quite and lovely (proper old Czech town). Still many restaurants and banks close to the hotel.
The breakfast in the hotel's restaurant was great, exactly what you need before a half-day walk or a long flight.
Travelled in Czech Republic by car, left it in the hotel's parking for 6 euro per night.

Arrived in Brno on 4th June, it was raining!

Bus ride from airport to city centre was really uncomfortable, bus like a sauna, but only 25 Koruna per person, happy days!!

Not much of a first impression of the city, no idea how to get to the hotel, eventually flagged down a taxi, took the driver about 3 minutes to get us there, charged us under 80 koruna, (less than £3). Area around the hotel is situated seems a little run down?

Got to the hotel about 12ish, lovely friendly receptionist, (asked for her name and very annoyed we both forgot it, really sorry) told us we could book in and go to our room, also showed us where we would eat for breakfast.

We were on the first floor and had booked a suite, very nice and very spacious, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and lounge. My wife noted that the bedroom seemed bigger because most of the storage cupboards were in the hallway.....

Room cleaned every day, (although bed wasn't made every day) and towels replaced daily too.

Our room was looking onto the garden, which was small and neat, only problem it also looked onto some very rough looking buildings, but I guess the hotel has no control of this?

Breakfast was fine, hot and cold food, and as previous reviewer had noted, the lady in charge of the kitchen was very pleasant.

The receptionist was always very helpful and always had time to answer our questions, which were plentiful! Lol

The only thing you need to be aware of is there is no easy way to get to the centre, (unless GCEK, will tell me otherwise? Lol) you could walk towards the station, but this takes you away from the centre, or you have to climb some quite steep steps and gradients to get to the centre of the city, which I would be wary of if I was in anyway infirm?

City just grew on us and we are seriously thinking of returning for New Year's Eve, both to Brno and the Hotel Cyro.

Room Tip: Try to have a room facing the garden
