“One of top 3 restaurants in Brno!”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

First, the restaurant has a new name - Pavillon, and a new location in the center of the city in a functionalist building. All the team from the former location moved here including the Chef, Mr. Michal Goth.
Excellent food and nice, non-intrusive, service. I loved the huge windows giving you the feeling to be part of the city and giving you a lot of natural light to enjoy your food. The restaurant is oriented on modern Czech cuisine. Prices half to 2/3 of what you would pay in Prague in a restaurant of a simillar level. Together with Borgo (Italian oriented) and Koishi (Asia fusion + sushi) it is definetly one of top 3 restaurants in Brno. Highly recomended!

“Awful”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

U Kastelána, Brno. Now in a new location and a complete disaster. Don't bother visiting. Food = poor, service = poor and they have ruined a beautiful cafe. They should also get someone to translate their menu!

“one of the best in Brno”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

As usually everything was more than good. Restaurant offers not very large menu but I guess only from fresh food. Prices are not very low but still acceptable. They have food prepared according to international or new styles but also some traditional Czech meals like "svickova". Very good selection of wines offered by educated sommelier is a big plus and all staff is very polite and nice. I can only recommend this restaurant during your visit in Brno.

“Totally Yummers-Great Evening”
Reviewed October 27, 2011

We ate at this restaurant as part of a group of 17 traveling through Bohemia and Moravia. The arrangements had been made through our guide.
What a great restaurant find. The outside of the restaurant is nothing to speak of and the entrance way goes through a rather bland area. But when you walk into the reception--you are warmly greeting and the lighting and space is very inviting. They took our coats--and showed us to a beautifully decorated table.
Our starter was superb smoked salmon. Good bread and herbed butter. Tender--fresh fresh fresh and lovely. Dinner was veal cheeks and mashed potatoes--done beautifully. Dessert was a variety of sorbets. Again--perfect for the meal. Service was excellent and well paced. Prices are about 2/3rds of Prague prices. We would eat here again.

“Pleasantly surprising”
Reviewed April 22, 2011

We had a completely delightful meal here on my birthday; I had an excellent meal of sea bass on saffron risotto with baby spinach. This place is not as high-end as you might think--when asked what kind of wine by the glass they had, the English challenged waitress replied "red and white"--but neither are the prices ridiculous. The ambience is a little dark, since the restaurant is essentially in a basement, but otherwise nice. I prefer not to be made to wait too long between courses and the service here was just fine. All in all, a great meal at a price which would basically just get you a nice hamburger in LA.
