“Personal Histories”

The museum displays many personal items and stories of individuals who lived at Terezin in WWII. It brings the history to a perspective we don't often get exposed to. Very worthwhile.

“Well Documented!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2012

This was the first stop on our tour. There is so much information provided, so much history to learn. Heartbreaking to learn about the things that happened in that town.

“History you need to see.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012

Lots of info to read about the plight of the Jews in this getto and the Nazi war. The large maps showing this place in relation to all the concentration and death camps. Most moving is the display of children's drawings and pictures from that time, many could be done by children of today. Their hopes, dreams and the reality of their plight.

“Best to start your tour here!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

I agree that it's definitely best to start your tour of Terezin here at the museum. The museum opens at 9am and if you get here on your own via the 8am bus from Prague, you can make it in time for the film that begins at 9:15am in English. We spent an additional hour or so after the film wandering the museum which does require some reading, but gave a complete background on the site. The complete ticket to enter the museum, small fortress, barracks, etc. cost us 210 CZK/person (adult).

“The Ghetto Museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2012

The museum is in the middle of the town of the larger Hlavni Pevnost or main fortress. There is a very good film that talks about the history of the fortress and use as a camp. Just as moving is the museum of art work by children that depict their vision of what happened there.
