Neighborhood: Praha 2
Description: We are non-smoking small family restaurant focused mainly on Czech cuisine. All of our meals are made without any glutamate, dyes, condiments and other preservatives. To flavor dishes we use just salt, pepper and fresh herbs. Permanent menu starts at 3pm every weekday. The lunch menu is available from 11am till 3pm until then, but with very limited offer and especially for local people. Regular menu is then available all weekend plus we do weekend specials.

We went here on our first day for lunch. The food and wine were all amazing. Very well service. Cute inside and out. Definitely worth a visit!

“Czech cuisine at its best”
Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

This restaurant really worths a visit if you want to have a great meal and taste local flavors. The place is nice but not something extraordinary. The food however was great. Staff was friendly but above all, prices were pretty good for what it offered (we paid around 20euros/person with 4 starters, main course, beer &dessert)

Hi Mr Chris

Thanks alot for your review. How you say, we dont make nothing extraordinary,
but we dont try about it. We just want to prepare tasty and even fresh, traditional
and local meals with love and care in their true form and also for reasonable prizes.
Hope we do it as good as its possible. Thank you again and see you next time.

Yours sincerely

“Definitely worth the trip!”
Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

Went to U Kroka based on the reviews here. We stayed at the Corinthia Tower Hotel so we traveled by for from the Hotel through the Vysehrad gardens. It is a 20 minutes stroll and with fine weather it is really nice.
The food was great. Had a plate of sausages for starters, all of which were wonderful. Had a chicken schnitzel and the potato graten for main courses. Really enjoyed both of them!!!
The service was warm and welcoming. We went there on a Friday evening and most of the tables were reserved so keep that in mind if you consider going there on a Friday or Saturday evening and make a reservation in advance.
The price was the surprising. After eating and drinking quite a lot, it came down to less than 500 CZK.
The setting was very genuine and the atmosphere was great.
We would recommend it to everyone we know who visits Prague.

Hello Mr Jonniss

Thank you alot for your review. Our team are trying to make all of our guests happy as same as you.
Its a truth that its better to make a reservation even on other days not just Friday and Saturday.
Mostly its necesary for dinner. Thanks again and see you next time.

Yours sincerely

“Wrong map point!”
Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

The address is correct, but current map point isn't.
I'd say it is overrated. The prices are fine and the food is good but nothing special. No particular interior design, just common black wooden tables (our was wobbly) and chairs, white walls of brick, modern radio playing.
The menu in Russia is badly translated, is it so hard to find a Russian-native speaker in Prague?

If you wish to visit something special, go 50 meters up the street to U Semika restaurant.

“Well worth seeking out.”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

We went to U Kroka on the basis of the great reviews on Trip Advisor and were very pleased that we did!

Although it is a little way from the centre its well worth the effort in getting there. Had roast duck, red cabbage and dumplings which were absolutely delicious as was the pickled Camembert starter. My girlfriend had the goulash which went down very well too.

Great value too particularly for somewhere as highly rated.
