Description: Cicala Trattoria - Back in 1997 a unique opportunity started to present itself in the centre of Prague - an opportunity to taste the real Italian cuisine flourishing under the baton of the culinary maestro Aldo Cicala. Today it has already been fifteen years since the restaurant opened for the first time and over these years it has won renown for its cosy family atmosphere, received numerous prestigious awards and welcomed many famous personalities. The restaurant owes its success first and foremost to its rich homemade Italian cuisine served with great attention to detail under the supervision of the talented chef David Cicala and to its emphasis on the quality of traditional ingredients. The restaurant also earned its high reputation thanks to the always friendly and accommodating staff who are also members of the Cicala family and create a genuine family atmosphere.

“Hollywood hotspot with great pasta”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

We ordered the Tagliatelle al Ragu, the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina, and the Panzerotti con Panna, Prosciutto e Funghi. The star of the show was probably the panzerotti. The sauce of the gnocchi (we had it with cream) was delicious, but hubby and I found the gnocchi a bit too firm for our liking. Unfortunately, the tiramisu was a bit too dry and lacking in flavour.

On leaving, we noticed a wall full of celebrity photos with the owners of the restaurant. Morgan Freeman, Sean Connery, Anthony Hopkins, Bruce Willis, Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, the Rock… Apparently many movies are shot in Prague, and many of the actors come to dine there afterwards!

“good italian food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

We went there friday night, it was nearly empty but the service was slow, the waiter was eating the dinner at the same time as us. There was also the owner and he was very nice. I played it safe and got lasagne, it was great, al dente. My boyfriends liked his panzerotti with mushrooms, but he said it wasnt great. My portion was very big, his was smaller.

“Little piece of Italy in Prague”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2012

I was so happy to find this place in my trip to Prague, as I'm not a big fan of their traditional cuisine, but love italian food. When I first arrived there it was over 10pm in a week day and we were the only guests in the restaurant. The place really feels like an italian trattoria, the owners/staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was so yummy, felt like fresh homemade food (particularly the dessert we had, tiramisu). We liked it so much that we returned again, eventhough we were only in the city for a short time. Definitely recommended!

“Don't be put off by the entrance or lack or pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012 via mobile

Although it doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside, it's well worth persevering as you will be rewarded by really excellent traditional Italian food and nice staff, although they don't all speak English.

Prices are good, if not cheap by Prague standards. Portions are sensible, but don't forget to order vegetables with your meat/fish.

We visited twice and got tables easily, despite being frequented by various famous people, as evidenced by the photos.

“Amazing food, lovely evening.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

An entrance that first strikes you as a small deli, takes you downstairs into a lovely family run restaurant, with a large, and traditional Italian menu. Great quality food, and friendly service.
