Description: Cicala Trattoria - Back in 1997 a unique opportunity started to present itself in the centre of Prague - an opportunity to taste the real Italian cuisine flourishing under the baton of the culinary maestro Aldo Cicala. Today it has already been fifteen years since the restaurant opened for the first time and over these years it has won renown for its cosy family atmosphere, received numerous prestigious awards and welcomed many famous personalities. The restaurant owes its success first and foremost to its rich homemade Italian cuisine served with great attention to detail under the supervision of the talented chef David Cicala and to its emphasis on the quality of traditional ingredients. The restaurant also earned its high reputation thanks to the always friendly and accommodating staff who are also members of the Cicala family and create a genuine family atmosphere.

Although it doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside, it's well worth persevering as you will be rewarded by really excellent traditional Italian food and nice staff, although they don't all speak English.

Prices are good, if not cheap by Prague standards. Portions are sensible, but don't forget to order vegetables with your meat/fish.

We visited twice and got tables easily, despite being frequented by various famous people, as evidenced by the photos.

An entrance that first strikes you as a small deli, takes you downstairs into a lovely family run restaurant, with a large, and traditional Italian menu. Great quality food, and friendly service.

This was a taste of heaven.....and the price was very good.
Strongly recommend this place. 340 Sek. for starter, main dish, dessert and wine of the house.

Though this place is a bit off the beaten path, it was the perfect find for an authentic, tasty, and well priced meal! Don't be alarmed by the "un-inviting" entrance as you will go downstairs to a very rustic and charming restaurant below! the food is fresh and very simplistic...you cannot go wrong! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic italian meal at a good price. It's just like eating at home! The family speaks italian and czech, little english however, very friendly! They were kind enough to give us complimentary after meal drink and coffee, too! We loved the food so much, we're going back tomorrow too! They have a menu online which is helpful in getting directions, as its a little aways from the old town. Their menu is also quite large, which plenty of appetizers, pastas, meats, fishes, desserts to choose from!
It's a hidden gem!!!!!

We had a great dinner at Cicala based on the recommendations in Tripadvisor. We went by the recommendation and let the waiter pick our antipasti, pasta, and meat for the whole table. Agreed the price in advance.
Very nice atmosphere even when we were the only group downstairs. The downstairs is much cosier than upstairs as someone recommended.
Very good basic Italian.
