My girlfriend and I visited on our first night in Prague following a recommendation from the hotel. The food was "rustic", over seasoned and mundane.
The starters of beef carpaccio and salmon tartar were acceptable if uninspiring (soggy carpaccio is never great) but held promise, however the two Czech "authentic" specials we tried were fundamentally the same dish except one had goose instead of pork, both served with sourkraut and dumplings. You know something is wrong when they're is three times more dumpling than meat!
Our waiter, if you could call him that, was dismissive, rude and overly pushy, constantly badgering us to order something or get another drink. In the end we became so fed up we got up and asked for the bill only to have it thrown at us over the front desk by yet another dismissive employee. When we tried to give them cash we were ignored until they finished their conversation.
Frankly a shocking display from a restaurant that claims to be authentic Czech.
