This place is about as overrated as it gets. They throw their rather large (but rather pricey) wine list at you to cover their below average food and average at best service. The decor is eclectic but I would never return. Ordered the Grilled Octopus which was rubbery and seasoned ver blandly. Ordered the special tuna steak for main course. Ordered it medium rare. It came out medium well 1 hr and 45 minutes later. Yes, almost 2 hours and they were not busy (several open tables). Many great places to eat in Prague. This is not one of them....

We tried La Veranda based on reviews here, only 2 weeks after leaving Venice, and it was equal to the best we found in Venice, with an intimate and beautiful dining room that could have been a friendly family kitchen. The cuisine was superb - a perfect foie gras in a delicious sauce, tagliatelle with a great rabbit ragout, and a fresh filet of snapper over a terrific fennel risotto. Fine service and charming setting, a total five ou of five.

As I said it was so delicious one thing after another! Really a very nice surprise in the middle of Prague. The service was so good as we went with our 2 years old boy, they had table toys and they were very kind. So good !it has to be a MUST when visiting Prague. I asked for a deli fish and my husband for the sweetest lamb i ever taste. A little more expensive as we are used to spend but every dish was worth it!

We dined at La Veranda last night (19th August). The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and arranged, tables not too close together. The staff had a nice balance of being very welcoming, friendly and attentive without being over top. The menu was not huge - but I like that, so felt it was perfectly balanced. For our menu choices we had for starters : foie gras(Me) calamari (OH) for main : trout (Me) lamb (OH) for dessert : pannacotta (both) : bottle of Sancerre. All of the food was presented beautifully and cooked perfectly.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Nice daily menu but also very nice standard menu! Food was excellent in tast, all products fresh! Service was also very good, fast, friendly, speaking 4 languages. Felt like being in Italy a bit.
