Take time to go to the truly stellar Princely Collection at the Lobkowicz Palace while you're at Prague Castle. It's completely worth the diversion. It was excellent- original Beethoven and Mozart manuscripts which gave me chills, terrific art, and a wonderful story to accompany it all. And lunch in the cafe was a dream: delicious food, divine dessert, and a view to die for.

Thank you to the Lobkowicz family for sharing with everyone the story of thier family's history. This was truely the hightlight of our recent trip to Prague. We especially enjoyed the narration by the family telling the story of each room and the incredible items they have restored and place for everyone to see.

If you do one museum in the Hradcany complex, make it this one. Every object carefully selected for its contribution to the story of the Lobkowicz family, who narrate the exellent audio tour guide. My children enjoyed it too (aged 10 & 13) which is quite a feat. Highlight for me was the score and parts of Beethoven's 5th & his opus 18 string quartets. Worth every penny.

A true hidden gem! The Lobkowicz family does an amazing job audio guiding you through their Palace, filled with Art, music and beautifully decorated rooms. They tell you the stories about their family members, and how they lost their fortune twice. If you are a music lover, the Price was the patron for Beethoven, and the 5th symphony was dedicated to him. Skip Prague castle- this is your destination. The best tour of our trip! I wish we had stayed for the hour music concert at lunchtime. We did eat lunch, it was awesome, with great views of the city from the balcony.

The Palace is a privately owned part of the Prague Castle site. Within it is a lovely museum recording the history of the Lobkowicz family and of Bohemia. The audio guide is excellent, easy to use and very moving to listen to. Absolutely fascinating throughout the tour, it is difficult to choose the highlight from the wonderful art, music and porcelain collections but I think it has to be overall experience and the fascinating and moving history of the family itself. The palace was by far the best attraction we visited in Prague. The restaurant is also excellent for lunch and has a superb view of Prague.
