Returned last week from a weekend break to Prague,We stayed at the Majestic plaza hotel. The hotel is set back in a side street of Wensaslas square, just of the tourist area..The hotel itself was fine our room was spacious, superbly clean with all the extra touches you would expect from a 4 star hotel,Tea and Coffee making facilities, sat tv,mini bar, etc, etc. The Bathroom was very nice and superbly clean, a real credit to the house staff. The reception staff were friendly and helpfull , nothing was to much trouble, only one minnor niggle, the breakfast was buffet style and repetetive,it was OK(just). Don't be put off by this as most eastern european hotels are the same..All in all a very nice hotel in prague..

Room Tip: rooms at the front of the hotel are bigger.

We have just returned from Prague after choosing to stay in this hotel , first impressions were good , the reception is bright and ornate , the staff helpful and friendly . Th location is ok , close to Wenceslas square although if i went back i would stay nearer old town square this is where the better resteraunts and bars are . Our room was on the 2nd floor , excellent lift so no problem , the room was a strange shape but a good size , bed comfortable and clean , bathroom lovely but toiletries not replaced each day . The free wifi wasnt available unless you asked , we did and were given code to use .
We opted for breakfast included ,this was available till 11am , this was not a 4* meal !!! Basically it was hotdog sausage, fatty bacon and runny scrambled eggs with other strange things like carrots and green beans ,the staff dont make you aware that you can order fried eggs and omelettes but these are freely available . I continually had to ask for things to be filled up too , which they did but it should be done automatically .
One of the main things that made me choose this hotel was the offer of a cocktail bar underneath the hotel which is used in the advertisement , how disappointing to find that this a) dosent belong to the hotel and b) was closed so the only place to sit and have a drink was the lobby bar that yes is in the lobby by the front door .... not relaxing at all .
To summerise , this hotel is big and clean but a bit tired in some areas , it is classed as a Best Western but a plaque on the door says its independantly owned , it also claims to be a 4* but we thought more 3*.

I was sorry to learn you did not enjoy all aspects of your recent stay. Regarding your complain about our breakfast I must say, that most of our guest are satisfied with the variety of food. Everybody has a different taste and prefere different things, but there is for everybody to choose from. About the Havana Club it was under the reconstruction. We usualy make some improvements every year and unfortunately it was during your stay.

We have just returned from our first visit to Prague. The hotel was in a good location, a side street off Wenceslas Square. The rooms are quite big with comfortable beds, adequate furnishings and a very clean modern bathroom. We were on bed and breakfast which is recommended, it is served till 11am if you like to sleep late and the choice was excellent, something for everyone- cereals, yogurt, fruit, meats, cheese, salad, eggs, bacon ect. Prague isn't a cheap place to eat so this set us up for the day. If you like peace and quiet ask for a high floor and not at the front of the hotel. Our room was on the second floor and at the front, the street is busy with people and traffic all day so the room was noisy. Staff were helpful and friendly and did their upmost to ensure a pleasant stay. Being non smokers the only complaint was the smell of cigarette smoke from the bar going up the stairwell, it was our first greeting each time we went out of our room but living in England we are not used to people smoking in various public areas. We also hired the private hot tub and sauna which was worth every penny after sight seeing in the cold and snow. A good way to relax and warm up. The tram system is a good way of getting around when tired of walking, it costs 110 Czech krouns a day for a ticket and is valid on all public transport. We never waited more than five minutes for one. We were warned that taxi prices were expensive and then can charge tourists quite a lot to get into the city. We booked via the Internet with Prague airport transfers, it cost 22 euros (our driver preferred euros) The driver had a board with our name and it was a good service. We agreed a pick up time when we arrived for taking us back to the airport. We thought this was a good price considering it was for both journeys. Would we stay at this hotel again -- Definitely.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher room floor at the back of the hotel. Main Street noisy.

Excellent location and very good hotel, large rooms and as expected with a 4 star. But their main website promised free wifi in all rooms, but when we arrived the reception guy told us we could only get it in the lobby and had to pay if we wanted it in the rooms. I asked him to log onto their own website and he saw that it said free wifi in all rooms.. But he still didn't honour it and just .. 'err, yes.. I don't know...'

Would've got 5 stars otherwise
