This was my first and last stay in one of Marriott hotels. We picked this hotel just because it was directely on the aiport and saved us like 40min sleep in the morning.
We came around 23.30 after 800km drive from Garda Lake.
We were received by a male receptionist of (I think) Ukrainian origin. His attitude was on the level on grumpy sergeant in American soldier movie. His only effort that tried to be by the book, was the atempt to upsale us breakfast, but also this was done with grupmy phrase: do you need breakfast? I was requested the ID and when I got the registration form I refused it to sign. I told him that I am not from Lithanuia. So where are you from? Very strange question, since he has seen my ID where the county if issue is cleary stated. Also the second time he didn't get it right: it was written Sierra Leone. Only the third time was written Slovenia. I made the reservation through Bonvoy page, I have full profile there including with my adresse, I gave him my ID, so where is the problem? By checking the reservation he would have found out, that I if involutarely made a mistake and booked for single instead double use, but he was not interested.
The receptionist did not check with me if the booking data in computer are correct and I got the key card without any explanation about the hotel.
Also about appearance of this person could be discussed. A receptionist in 4star hotel without tie is no-go for me.
In the room second shock. We booked room with 1 king size bed! We got however a room with two separated queen size beds!!!! King size was not a guest wish, it was a room type to book. And if I book something, I request to get it or get and a proactive apology and offer of compensation! This was not the case. As it was already midnight, I did not have confirmation on me and reception was not customer oriented I decided to put the bed together by myself.
Room is very basic. The only good thing is, that the have bathtube and not only shower. There were no sleepers on bathrobes. Unpleasent with aircondtioning working and carpet floor. The minibar is empty. Should I go at midnight again 6 floors below to buy something? Anyway, I check on depature day, in hotel "market" no sparkling wine. Just some normal wine, with Marriott brand, called Sedlak. This means farmer or peasent in Czech. Very convenient for the level the hotel is run. The bath room amenities are really tiny and hardly sufficient for 2 persons. There is not toillette brush - disguisting. You know what is used for, don't you? The beds are for an European traveler much too high. I am 37 years of age and normally fit and I have once almost fallen when getting out of bed. The beds are also too high to seat confortabelly on them as you can not touch the floor with your feet, but there is only one chair. There is water cattle with coffee, but only plastic or paper coups. Very cheap! Sleep quality was fine however.
On the second day the room maid came in during my absence and made up the bathroom, although I did not check out yet. Normal practice or she just didn't care?
Check out from Miss Olesia was on opposite to evening before on very professional and friendly level.
I would not reccommand this hotel, neither Marriott brand.
