staff was friendly enough, cute, simple, small boaty room. Right on the river, great first night in prague. breakfast ends at 10 which seems a little early... granted we are not morning people!
really cute patio restaurant, we did not have food though.
We have learned to carry earplugs and needed them here as the party people hang close by til pretty late.

Having driven all the way to Praha from England i was delighted to see the beautiful boat on the canal path covered in geraniums. The staff were friendly and helpful and i was surprised to hear of other reviewers bad customer service experiences. The only discrepancy in the service came in the restaurant but this was not bad but rather chaotic service. I think the restaurant staff just need a better system of management as they were all very good at their jobs but didn't pull together as a team very well. The room was cosy and what you would expect on a narrow boat but what they lack in space they make up for in charm and quality. I will be back and make no mistake. We chose to eat in the restaurant and received a 10% discount as we were guests. The food was a much better quality than the local tourist fodder but slightly over seasoned for my taste. The quality of the produce and the menu choice was outstanding for a little vessel. The quality of the bed was very good and we slept soundly despite being in a busy location.

Excellent location and beautiful setting. The menu looked great and I'm sure the food was good, but couldn't get a waiter to take our order (despite there being 4 servers behind the bar and 2 smoking under the bridge). We ended up leaving.

Pros:
The location is excellent next to the old town, close to Charles Bridge, really close to Kampa Island, the rooms are well designed and equipped, have ACs

Cons:
The rooms are little bit small, you cannot unpack a big bag there, the bathrooms should have bath tubs

I had a reservation from June 16 to June 18. Prior to traveling, I received confirmation from Hotels.com and checked the hotel's website, as I wanted to make sure there was no problem with the previous floodings. On arrival, I was very surprised to see that there was no hotel. Apparently, they had to move due to the floodings. This can happen, but I would at least expect that they inform the people that will be affected by this. Not... I checked into another hotel close by (agreed with and compensated by Hotels.com). To my surprise, we saw Matylda in service the next day. We dropped by and asked to talk to the manager. We were told he wad too busy to talk with us and he would apologize by email later that week. Two weeks have gone by and still waiting. I understand weather and floodings are out of our control, but I am not at all impressed with how they handled this.

We booked to stay in this hotel atvleast 6 months before our trip and we were really looking forward to our stay based on the reviews we had read. 2 weeks prior to our arrival the river flooded and I became concerned as to whether our accommodation would still be available. I didn't hear anything from the hotel so I sent an email enquiring if everything was ok once3 days before our arrival. I still had not heard anything back by the day before we arrived in Prague so I even tried ringing but no answer. On arrival in Prague we went to the river but there was no sign of the hotel. I can only assume the boats had been moved to keep them safe from the floods which we understand but a little communication from them would have been appreciated. Luckily we're able to book something else at very short notice.

If you are looking for bells, whistles, a large space, or even a phone- this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for an incredibly centralized location, with amazing views, a great little restaurant, and most of all an exciting different experience, then I wouldn't stay anywhere else. My husband and I highly recommend this charming, small, and old-fashioned little Botel. We can't even compare it to anything else because it is so unique. It is clean and the restaurant staff is so friendly and helpful. We found that eating and drinking at the hotel restaurant (the boat right next to it is their restaurant) was so much cheaper than going out to eat every night. We stayed in a Superior room with opening French doors but no balcony. The view we had was of the street and beautiful architecture. We could even see the Dancing House building from our room. The other option is for river views, which would be our choice next time.

Room Tip: The Superior room is small but for a couple it is very charming. The restroom is very tight. We ha...
