“Perfect home away from home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

The service here was exceptional, my husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. Both Michail and Nikoleta from reception were great. Nikoleta was the one who assisted us with our booking. She was kind enough to arrange our airport transfer and also print our boarding passes for our trip home. Michail, meanwhile, was the one who received us when we arrived at the hotel and we really appreciated his help with our luggages. He also gave us great advice and tips in exploring the city. His referral on where we can exchange currency was very helpful.

Our room was beautifully decorated and spacious. Part of the design of the room were musical instruments that were either hanged at the wall or resting by the windows. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well. The design of the bathroom also fit well with the room and was always spotlessly clean. They provided enough towels and toiletries, plus bathrobes and slippers too!

The breakfast included was very good. We liked the French breakfast most but I love the freshly-baked muffin included in the American breakfast. We also had our dinner at their restaurant for the entire 3 nights we stayed. Their food was fabulous :) We especially loved the Black Eagle specialty and their traditional pancakes. The service at the restaurant was also exceptional. The waiter who attended to us was very friendly and gracious. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get his name but he was the older of the two waiters who alternate shifts.

As already mentioned in most of the reviews here, you can't top the location of the hotel. It's very near the Charles bridge and you can walk to almost all the attractions from the hotel.

We would definitely stay here again if we get another chance to visit Prague.

Well, all the reviews about location are true. Streetcar/bus hub a block away, 100 metres to the Charles Bridge, a 14th century pub next door, a complete market with fresh food, cold beer, wine & spirits on the corner; what more do you need?
The hotel is lovely. 15th century with nice modern touches like WiFi, big shower, and even a loaner laptop in the hall. Super clean and charming.
The beds are Hästens hand-made Swedish mattresses. The best sleep I've had in a hotel in ages!
The hotel uses a card pass/intercom at the front door and feels very secure.
Michael & Nicole at the front desk were very friendly, attentive and helpful as was Standa in the dining room. I'm not going to mention the amazing full breakfast that's included in the price. Suffice it to say that fresh-squeezed orange juice, coffee, basket of fresh breads, croissant, Prague ham, broiled tomato, eggs benedict with smoked salmon, and French toast with poached pears is enough to keep me going for a full day of strolling this beautiful city. ;)
The hotel "taxi" is a Mercedes passenger van and gave us a very reasonable flat-rate to the airport.
Why didn't I rate it 5 out of 5? No tissues or facecloth in the bathroom, and no waterslide.
Would I recommend it to friends and stay there again? You bet I would!

Room Tip: Courtyard (inside) rooms probably don't get the street noise. That said, we slept with the windo...

This is a small hotel located right at the Lesser Town side of the Charles Bridge. It was just a short walk to the Old Town via the bridge and you could go down alongside the hotel and within a couple of blocks you could walk along the river. The room we had was good size but sometimes people in the street would make noise and being in the room in the front we could hear the noise. The young lady and young man who were at the reception on different days were so willing to help and made dinner reservations and arranged a taxi to the airport for us. They were always willing to give suggestions as to dining and give directions. The only negative is that there is no elevator and the reception is only there from 7am to 7pm. The young lady at the reception, when she knew we were leaving at 6am to go to the airport, arranged with the restaurant to have food prepared for us to pick up the evening before we were to leave. The price was reasonable and included juice, coffee or tea and several options such as American, English, French, Healthy and others and all were more than we have ever had as an included breakfast. There was no stinting on the breakfast, it was a large and delicious breakfast. If you can walk steps, book this hotel

Room Tip: Rooms in the front may get street noise from people passing by.

Location- when you step out of the hotel, to your left is the way to the castle area which only took us 10 - 15mins walking and to your right, only a few steps away is charles bridge which is truly as beautiful as they say, the bridge itself is amazing and attractions a lot of people but also the views from it is something from fairy tales I think. Across the bridge leads into old town if you go straight ahead or turn left is the Jewish quarter, so yes we found the hotel's location most convenient. There are atm, mini mart and lots of restaurants all around there and also a thai massage place across from it and they do great massage at a reasonable price. There's Macdonald few steps away too if you must.
Restaurant-great little restaurant at the hotel. They included breakfast when you stay there and it is amazing! Best breakfast we've had anywhere, honestly. You choose either French, English, Czech, American, or healthy continental, all cooked breakfast apart from the healthy one and all served with either tea or coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice and also a variety of bread, I loved their breads. Loved their breakfast. We were never hungry after breakfast until dinner time. We also dinner there once, the price is excellent and food there tasted better than some of the high racking poshy looking restaurants.
Room-very unique looking, clean and bathroom was also very clean with a nice touch with their baskets of toiletries. It was also nice to have a bath at the end of a long day. The condition of the room wouldn't pass as perfect due to some parts of the floor which obviously needs repairs but this was not a major issue, only pointing it out so you're aware its not all perfect. There are lovely tea cups in the room and we were also given some complimentary chocolate on arrival. There's only 1 English channel on tv, but still good when falling asleep at night. There's also tea and coffee and a kettle in the room and a mini fridge.
Staff- helpful and friendly staff. Michael at reception is very approachable and informative, even cleaning ladies are very friendly and always say good morning when they see you. Restaurant staff were also always professional and pleasant.
I think that was everything. The hotel organised our airport transfers for us for 600cns each way which is reasonable.
We did a lot of research before deciding on this one and glad we did. Oh, we had the deluxe room with the painted ceiling, the room we had did not have any views but was always nice and quiet. September in Prague can still have warm days so sometimes when we come back in the room, it would feel quite warm so it was nice to have the windows opened tonlet the cool breeze in.
I hope the review helps.

We ate at the restaurant attached to this hotel, what a wonderful meal. it was huge and tasted so good, the pork knuckle was tender, crispy and just delicious. the confit duck was the same, yet the whole meal was very reasonably priced. We actually felt bad that we couldn't eat it all as it tasted so good.

Stayed here for 2 nights over Labor Day weekend. Hotel is right at the Charles Bridge, also only a 5 min walk to the castle. Homeade breakfast included multiple selections and significant portions. Service was excellent all around, more than helpful staff. Previous comment regarding street noise from Room 1-we stayed in Room 2, facing main street, and it wasn't bad, after all you are in a prime location.
Would definetly return to this hotel.
