when we were booking this hostel we saw a few bad reviews but we just ignored it because the price was so cheap. Big mistake. the best thing about this hostel is the location as its close to everything but this just doesnt compensate for all of its downfalls. the kitchen was constantly filthy so we never used it. the staff, to say they are unhelpful and rude is an understatement. when you ask them for help they just stare at you like you should know everything about prague already. the cheap price just wasnt worth the hassle we had here

Die internationale Stimmung machen die Flohstiche überall nicht wett. Zu wenig Bäder und Toiletten. Nicht wirklich sauber.

There's a nice international atmosphere, but I'm flea-bitten everywhere. So it isn't worth it. There are just a few bathrooms and it's not really clean.

The only good thing about chili hostel is the location. It is right in the heart of prague and is an easy walking distance to anywhere around the city. However, the hostel itself was a huge disappointment. They gave wrong directions on their website as they failed to inform customers that the nearest train station was closed off. The bedrooms and bathrooms are dirty and dusty. Locks don't always work. You can't get wifi on the first two levels and must go to at least the third level to get average wifi. There are limited free computers. The beds are squeaky. I would not recommend staying here...ever! I certainly will never be back.

We had a absolutely terrible experience with Hostel Chili. After arriving in Prague late, we were looking forward to getting some sleep, but this was not the case. We emailed the hostel the day before to tell them that we'd be arriving the day after we'd originally booked, they replied and said it was fine. But for some reason, when we went to check in we were told our reservation had been cancelled and that there were no beds available! The receptionist then went on be awfully unhelpful, not offering to help find other accomodation and then went on to recommend a hostel that was three times as much as Hostel Chili. Although he recognised that it was the hostel at fault, he didn't proceed to offer us any sort of compensation or refund of the previous night! I don't recommend this hostel at all- go just up the road to Dizzy Daisy Hostel!

This was a nice hostel. It was not the best we stayed in during our month in Europe, but it was no where near the worst either. The staff was very helpful and most of them spoke English well enough to communicate with us effectively. The room was clean and bathroom had hot water. The breakfast was nice enough- breads and jams and some fruit and juice in the mornings. I would stay here again.

I have been travelling all over Europe for the last two weeks and came to prague for three days to enjoy the beautiful city. We booked this hostel for its location (which is great, close to everything) and obviously the price. Worst mistake we have made so far on this trip. I have stayed in cheaper hostels which were far nicer, cleaner and had friendlier staff. Upon checking in we had to put deposits down for the keys, which is not stated anywhere, the staff were rude and unpleasant - they couldn't be bothered to explain or help with anything. No elevators so beware backpackers if your on the 5th floor! Loud, noisy and very dirty. The floors are disgusting, the bunk beds are old, noisy and very uncomfortable. Security is a massive issue - no locks on the lockers!?!?!? Avoid at all costs, wish we had never stayed here.

This was a terrible hostel. For starters I was on the 5th floor with no elevators which made for a lot of effort with all of my bags.
Secondly the facilities were quite poor - unclean bathrooms and the beds were uncomfortable and noisy. There was no handsoap in any bathroom that i used (i was there for 3 nights).
Additionally, the washing machine was broken, the internet was very slow and the staff didn't seem to care about much about anything.
The only good part about this hostel was the location. It was quite close to everything. Apart from that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
