Excellent value hotel, close to the river and the dancing house.
Faultless service, cleanliness and breakfast. Would stay here again.

Booked the hotel very very last minute for a 1 week stay pretty much while on the way to the airport. I booked directly with the hotel and got a great deal, about €75/night with breakfast and free Wi-fi. The hotel staff were happy to accomodate our request for a large bed. The room was very nice, with a super-king size bed, ensuite and balcony (it might have been one of the only rooms with one) with a partial view of the Dancing Building and Vltava river. The bathroom was nice, a good size with underfloor heating and a power shower.

The hotel is located in a great area, steps away from the tram, and there are some decent resturants within walking range.

Prague has not adopted a smoking ban, so almost all restaurants/hotels allow smoking. The non-smoking areas are usually directly adjacent to the smoking areas, so you're always subjected to varying degrees of second-hand smoke. This is true of the hotel lobby, which makes entering and exiting the hotel and waiting for the elevator a bit of an eyewatering, asthma-inducing experience.

The staff were quite helpful. They were very professional, but can be a bit cool and brusque by some standards. But I found this with most of the people of Prague; helpful, but not exactly friendly.

The downside of the hotel was definetly the lack of a resturant. I don't believe that serving a beakfast buffet qualifies the dining area as a resturant. Outside of the breakfast, all that is on offer are deli sandwhiches, although on one occasion the barman, who is on call during the evenings did offer to make me a burger. The breakfast buffet itself was quite satisfactory and replenished regularly, but its best to start early to avoid the crowds in the small dining area.

All-in-all, a good hotel, good location, and great value.

For a low end four star the cost was reasonable with nice rooms and adequate breakfast. However, when we complained that the air conditioning did not cool the room sufficiently we found the reception and management to be very unhelpful and rude. The minimum temperature at night was 23.5 degrees and we were informed that this was normal for hotels in Prague and that we were the problem in expecting anything better. The location is fine, perhaps 15 minutes walk to the centre and near the river.

Very good value for money. Nice, spacious and modern rooms. Central location. Quiet old building. 10 min walk to the city. No parking and parking close to the hotel (400 m) is quite expensive. The breakfast is only an average. Staff sometimes not in a good mood or not available or speaking only Spanish (its a part of the Spanish chain).

Overall I enjoyed my stay at the David, the rooms were more than adequate and the hotel is an amazing building. It is about a 15 minute walk from the old town, but there is a subway station nearby. the hotel also offers free in-room wi-fi which is always a good thing. Would stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights on our leg of our month long European trip this summer due to the many positive reviews and this hotel was wonderful. Positives: The hotel looks far more expensive once you get inside than what we paid. Our room had a plasma TV with tons of satelite channels, nice bedroom, very comfortable bed, Free Wireless Internet, very nice bathroom...and just has a nice "Wow" factor when you enter the room. The hotel is in a good location close to public transport or close enough really to walk around the tourist areas since most items are pretty close if you don't mind walking. In addition they had the best breakfast buffet we've had in Europe for a non luxury hotel. They had many items American hotels would have with the sausage, eggs, bacon, fruits, desserts, which is so much more than the most European hotels have. If you aren't used to European breakfasts you might not appreciate this until after you come back. This free breakfast allowed us to skip a meal during the day doing a late lunch/dinner instead which saved us quite a bit of money. Super safe secure parking is available however... Negatives: The parking was pretty expensive at 20 Euros per day at their other hotel a few blocks away...but if you have a car in Prague you best put it in secure parking and this place seemed to be the Fort Knox of car parks behind a huge door, underground, etc. It was the first time I've ever been in Central/Eastern Europe and had 0 fear about my new car. Overall, I couldn't have been more pleased with my stay here. From the hotel staff, the location, the price, the room, and the food it was the best hotel bargain that we had in our month trip.

We were moved here due to an overbooking at the hotel we were planning to stay at (Hotel Roma - don't bother!). The hotel is nice and the rooms comfortable, although we were in an attic room which had no view - just velux windows.

Overall the facilities were fair and the breakfast ok, but I'm sure you can find better for similar money
