Stayed here with a friend one night before new years eve - cheaper options available, but we chose this place for location and not being a hostel (rate 85 Euros for twin room). Check-in OK, although the lady spoke next to no English -.told us that check-out was at eleven. Unfortunately, the next morning she (and another employee three minutes later) started banging at our door around ten thirty demanding us to pay. Credit card payment not available as advertised on booking.com, no apologies offered.
The room was OK, bed not too comfortable (old sofa?) but fine for a night, all fairly clean. One big problem was that the heating was turned up so high that we found the room uncomfortably hot when returning to it after a few hours in town. The regulating knob had been removed from the heating, so we had to leave the window ajar all night to get a bearable temprature - other guests in the courtyard-facing rooms had open windows, too.
All in all, hardly worth the price paid, but might be ok for the low-season price, in other room, when cash-only-policy is known before. Also, breakfast was decent.

The place was reasonable for the listed price and is in a good location, but it is severely understaffed, with the same person simultaneously responsible for check-in, cleaning, breakfast, etc. Don’t expect any cleaning or new towels unless you can find this single worker and ask for them. Pay attention during check-out, because in our case the lady not only rounded up the balance owed, but also marked up the exchange rate from euros to Czech korunas by about 1 koruna over the listed market exchange rates, claiming it was a “commission.” We stayed at a different place the next night (also booked through budgetplaces.com) which used the listed market rate and didn’t try to gouge “commissions” from us.

I stayed there with my mum for 4 nights, and the room was nice, lots of windows, nice bathroom (a little bit of mould in the shower).... Breakfast was ok, breads, juices, coffee, teas, jam, cereals, yoghurts, cheeses, meat and hot meat stuff (I'm a vegetarian so I didn't look), eggs and a very impressive selection of cakes.

The staff, especially the person cleaning our room was super nice, my mum threw out a pair of broken sunglasses then the cleaning-person had fetched them from the trash can, fixed them and written a note for us :D of course we gave him/her a big tip ;-)

The wifi only worked one night, while we where there, it sounded like it happened often....

The location is a bit out of the way, but the area is much cheaper than city, and there is a nice big park close to the hotel..

Regards, Anja

Room Tip: quiet area, but be aware of smoking rooms

We stayed at the Pension Aaron in Prague for four nights. It is located out of the tourist district very near a metro station and tram lines, which make getting in to the town center a breeze. The pension provides basic accomodations and breakfast included for a cost of approximately $65 per night, based upon the exchange rate at the time. We did not stay in
the main building, which I believe has 3 floors, but rather in an extension building. It's clean, beds are a bit small and firm, the bathroom is small - as is usual in Europe - and only 1 towel is provided per person. There was no maid service, and after 2 days we had to ask for clean towels, which were provided to us. The breakfast was meats and cheese or cereal, bread, juice and coffee/tea. There is a courtyard with tables and chairs (Rubbermaid-type) that is secluded from the street. It was nice to sit out for awhile, and we saw other people smoking out there in the evening.
I recommend this pension for people looking for basic accomodations with good pricing.
If you decide to use the trams and/or metro's, you can buy a daily or 3-day ticket which provides unlimited access. The important thing to remember is to validate your ticket when you use it the first time. To do this all you have to do is put in into a slot which will encode the date on it.
