“A real gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2013

Our 'room' was, in fact, was a small appartment with well-appointed kitchen, very spacious bedroom/lounge, hallway and bathroom. Authentically renovated and situated within the Little Town, the charming buildings of which are right outside your bedroom window, providing a romantic and historic setting. Within easy walking distance of the castle and Charles Bridge, leading to the Old Town, this gem was a real find. Quiet, safe and with helpful staff who organised an excellent taxi driver from the railway station to the hotel, who gave us a guided tour along the way, describing Prague's history and pointing out a fabulous, traditional, inexpensive restaurant near the hotel. (http://www.restaurant-uglaubicu.cz/en/).
This accommodation was our favourite in a nine week odyssey! Highly recommended!

Room Tip: This room was described as a 'Deluxe double room' - hadn't expected an appartment!

This hotel was situated close to the Charles Bridge and within reach of all the tourist areas of Prague but in a very quiet area. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. Rooms were large with large bathrooms. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

The Appia was great -- in fact more than we had hoped for. It's a beautifully maintained building first built many centuries ago with wonderful, big rooms, a lovely garden and outdoor eating place, elevator to upper floors, and a fantastic breakfast in a great old room. The staff were, one after another, the nicest and most helpful people. And the location in Mala Strana couldn't have been more perfect for strolling and experiencing this charming old city. It was also a short walk to the Charles Bridge, so that getting to the Old Town was an easy, delightful walk, and close by in the opposite direction is the city's highlight: the immense castle on the hill.

Room Tip: I don't know about rooms other than the one we were in, but we loved the big space, big windows...

Tucked away in a neighborhood near the U.S., German, and Irish (and other) embassies, this hotel was comfortable, affordable, and just minutes from the Charles Bridge and thus the tourist areas of Prague. Friendly staff, great breakfast buffet, and quiet.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms on the first floor (101-105). All have patios for relaxing after a day'...

We came to visit Prague with our family and friends, who recommend Appia, and we were not disappointed. The hotel is located close to several embassies and the location is safe. Parking at the hotel can be difficult if you have a larger vehicle but is indoors and secured. The hotel is close to Prague Castle and Old Town Square and we walked everywhere, even with three children. The hotel itself is truly amazing, we reserved a suite and it was perfect for our family. There was plenty of room and the rooms are beautiful. We booked with the breakfast included and it did not disappoint, a short walk upstairs was ideal for our family. The staff is terrific and accommodated all of our needs. We will return to Appia when we visit Prague again.

We picked up this hotel for its sensible priced deluxe room and its ranking. We are glad we did, it totally enhanced the great experience Prague was for us. Upon arrival the guy manning the reception desk (Daniel i think) gave us a map and pointed out places of interest and went out of his way to show us how to get to some crazy places that we had in mind (zoologicka zahrada heh).
Every guy and girl working in the reception desk was kind and helpful to us.
We got comfortable in our room (308) and caught a glimpse of Prague Castle from our window as we got ourselves ready for our first walk. The room was tidy, cozy and comfortable. Really warm considering it was 4 Celsius during our stay and we hung around in T-shirts while in.
Bath was clean, complete with a large 2-person tub, hairdryer and every other amenity.
Wi-fi was available with a personal router for each room mind you.
Breakfast was really great and i provide many pictures to support that fact. We were full till afternoon daily.
The hotel is located right below Prague castle (5 min) and close to Loretta and Strahov Monastery (7 min). It's a 10 min stroll till Charles Bridge and a tram station taking you to Malostranska metro station. The city is pretty much walkable so no problems there, just have in mind that arriving and leaving with baggage might take some effort.
If i re-visit Prague i will stay there again for sure.
