Kampa Island is a great place to stay in Prague - offering easy pedestrian access to all the sights on both sides of the river, but a bit out of the way and much quieter than the Old Town, especially late at night.

Hotel U Jazulatka seemed like the best choice on Kampa and we were not disappointed. Our room, #2 overlooking the square, was very comfortable and well appointed (though a wall-mounted shower fixture would be appreciated by North American guests). We were surprised to discover that in the summer there is a street food market in the square, which turned out to be a bonus ... great snacks and pivo available all day long and happy crowd sounds in the evening without rowdiness. We also enjoyed the hotel's riverside terrace for drinks and appetizers, though we didn't have a meal there, and found the breakfast room attractive and the buffet ample.

There are a couple of reasons for giving this charming hotel a rating of four rather than five:
- The hotel's air conditioning system had failed during a heat wave the week before we arrived and we were not informed of this at check-in. There did not appear to be any repair efforts underway during our 3 night stay. With our windows open due to the lack of air conditioning, we were awakened at 2 am by a loud conversation in the square, which turned out to be the hotel staff on a break. (Martina provided a bottle of prosecco in apology when told of this inconvenience, which was very much appreciated.)
- The level of service varied considerably depending on who was on duty. When the lovely Martina was on the reception desk, for example, we were offered cooked breakfast options. When her less engaged colleague was on duty, we were not.

In spite of these few "glitches" we would definitely stay at U Jezulatka again and recommend it to others.

Room Tip: I think we would choose a room on the river side rather than on the square next time, just for the v...

if you. like small and intimate hotels, go to U Jezulatka. Just a few steps from Charles Bridge and the major tourist attractions and at the same time on a quiet and agreeable plaza. The staff is excelent. The staff is very helpful and sympathetic.

this was a small homey hotel with great interior and generously sized room, located in a small island of kampa, close to the charles bridge. i was so happy having found this little boutique hotel! my room overlooked the street, and i had great time sitting at the open window in the mornings and watching the street to wake up. i would highly recommend this hotel for couples too.

We recently enjoyed a 5 day trip to Prague, staying at the Hotel U Jezulatka, in a quiet square just off the Charles Bridge. The hotel was charming; small, 'boutique', lovely decor, attention to detail, delicious continental breakfasts and friendly and helpful staff. We wouldn't hesitate to go there again and have already recommended the hotel to friends and family.

Room Tip: Rooms either over look the quiet, delightful square or the Charles Bridge and the river. You can'...

Chose the hotel for the central location and because we knew and liked this square on Kampa Island, which is surprisingly quiet considering it is beside the Charles Bridge. The hotel is very small, only having 6 rooms. We had room 2, on 1st floor with view over the square and to the Castle. It was spacious, with a large lobby with the wardrobe, and good bathroom with underfloor heating. The welcoming plate of fruit and the small bottle of local sparkling wine created a caring impression. Staff were all helpful. Breakfast was excellent for this size of establishment, far better than we had expected, and especially impressed that on our first morning, despite being only residents, the full breakfast selection was laid out and we were given a 3 hour availability. In the circumstances we would happily have agreed a time the night before. Breakfast room has lovely view of Charles Bridge. The only downside was that the outer door is kept locked and you have to ring for access, but we only had to wait several minutes on one occasion. We had tea/coffee making facilities in room. We booked direct with hotel and they always replied to our emails promptly. We asked them to arrange transport from the airport (700 ckr) which worked well. We would certainly stay there on our next visit to Prague.

Room Tip: All have view of either of castle or bridge. Room 2 executive room on 1st floor recommended.

First visit to Prague, we stayed for 4 nights in an Exec room at the Hotel U Jezulatka. The room was excellent, very spacious and nicely decorated. Staff were very friendly and happy to provide whatever help was required. Breakfast was fine, buffet with breads, cheeses/meats and plenty of coffee. The location is great, just by Charles Bridge in the Lesser town, a really good base to explore the city with the castle only a few minutes stroll away. Having highlighted the great location, the added bonus was the peace and quiet. We weren't aware that the hotel had a terrace bar, enjoyed relaxing by the river with a foaming czech beer after a hard day exploring the delights of Prague. Overall a great short break, we will be back and will certainly stay at the Hotel U Jezulatka again - delightful.

Room Tip: Choose an Exec room, very spacious, lovely views

We stayed for 4 nights at the U Jezulatka, the hotel was at the base of the Charles Bridge over the river in Prague. It's location was perfect, near enough to the centre but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. Our room (executive) overlooked Charles Bridge and The Castle. The decor was lovely and very clean and comfortable. The maid noticed reading glasses were broken and left a pair to lend if we needed them, A half bottle of sparkling wine was left as it was my hubby's birthday....all went to making the stay more pleasurable.
Positive issues,
1) Location, quiet but close to the centre and a few steps from Charles Bridge
2) Communication when booking directly with the hotel, (we found this to be the cheapest way)
3) Views from the room,
4) Service from the reception and maid,
5) Fresh fruit in the room
6) King size bed,
7) Mini bar and safe in the room
If there had to be any negative issues,
1) there wasn't any Tea/coffee making facilities,
2) We preferred to have a shower, it had a bath with mixer shower attachment but not able to attach to the wall,
3) No English channels on the TV, i think this could have been sorted, but we were only there a few days.

Room Tip: pay for the executive room
