We visited Prague to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary and our son's 18th Birthday at the end of October last. This hotel is in a beautiful location minutes away from beautiful Prague Castle. The hotel consists of two buildings situated across the road from one another, the street is cobbled and quite steep as you reach the top, but still very manageable. The staff were very friendly and very helpful, they even left a congratualtions card for us in our room and allowed us to use their computer facilities to print our boarding cards for our return flight home. Prague is a wonderful city and there is so much to see, everything is easily accessible and within walking distance of the Green Lobster Hotel. One word of warning, the cafe right beside the hotel is very expensive, even with a 25% discount voucher from the hotel!! There are far nicer and cheaper places to eat within close proximity to the hotel, we found a lovey authentic pub just up the road from our hotel where the food was excellent and really good value for money too. We will definitely return to the Green Lobster.

We have tried many hotels in Prague and this is our favorite. It is located beneath the Prague Castle and not far from Charles Bridge, so most places we want to visit are very walkable. The hotel is on a very steep (hilly) cobble stone street. If you have a car, you can park free but you have a long uphill walk to retrieve it. The good news is that our room was enormous with a small kitchen, living/dining room, big marble bathroom and an upstairs loft bedroom. We had a problem with the TV, but staff attended to it right away. Included in the cost is a great breakfast with a lot of variety - several breads, eggs, ham, cheeses, yogurt, juices, etc. I would recommend the Green Lobster Hotel. Keep in mind that due to the age of the building and its configuration, no two rooms are alike.

Room Tip: Ask if staff can tell you in advance which room you will get. They are all different.

Dear Valued Guests,
Thank you for having chosen our hotel for your stay in Prague. Thank you also for the time you devoted to this nice feedback, I do appreciate that. We are very happy we could be one of your favourite hotels in Prague. As you were correctly stating, all the executive rooms in the Bijou de Prague building are different: antique furniture, but different textiles, colours, set ups and each rooms is named after important Czech personalities.
It would be a pleasure for me to welcome you back at the Hotel Green Lobster/Bijou de Prague, and all the hotel team will be more than happy to provide you a most comfortable stay again.
Best regards,

I chose this hotel mainly because of its location - very near Prague Castle, that dominates the steep hill overlooking central Prague. The hotel exceeded my expectations.
Two baroque buildings on opposite sides of the main street leading to the castle comprise the hotel. The breakfast room is in the building we stayed in. We stayed four nights, in mid-October.
The room we were given on the second floor was very large. It had three sets of double windows, overlooking the street. The room had a wonderfully restored beamed ceiling painted in the baroque era with garlands of leaves. There was a king-size four-poster bed. A matching set of two carved and gilded armchairs, a couch and four straight chairs furnished the room, which also had a counter equipped as a small kitchen. The brightly tiled marble bathroom included a full-size bath, telephone shower - but no place to attach it to the wall for a shower -
a small and awkward sink to use, and a bidet. There was plenty of hot water. Towels were changed daily, but curiously, the bed was not made daily.
Despite the minor irritations of the phone shower and the sink, we were more than satisfied with the room.
The location of the hotel makes for a short walk uphill to Prague Castle, which one could visit several times to see the many buildings and lanes of the castle grounds, as well as the imposing gothic St Vitus cathedral. Staying nearby, it was also convenient to visit at night, when the main buildings are dramatically illuminated.
Also nearby is the imposing compound of the Strahov monastery, with its dramatic onion domes and its two wonderfully restored libraries. In good weather, there is a terrace restaurant with unparalleled views of Prague spread out below, and the castle spires nearby.
The breakfast buffet at The Green Lobster was very carefully maintained by a friendly staff. The buffet included two types of excellent yoghurt, along with many hot and cold offerings - and surprisingly good quality coffee.
The front desk staff of the hotel were consistently friendly and helpful, making hotel guests feel more like welcome house guests.
I not only thought that the room, the breakfast service, the hotel ambience and the staff were terrific, I also thought the room charge was very modest for the quality of what is offered.
Since the hotel is a historic building, and has been restored in keeping with its history, there is no elevator. People who have limitations walking up flights of stairs need to take this into consideration.
I would be very happy to stay at The Green Lobster again - and highly recommend it.

We came back from the Green Lobster only last weekend after a fantastic 5 days in Prague celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. We couldn't say enough good about the hotel, especially as we found we had been upgraded to an executive suite over the road on our arrival. Our room (Rudolf II) was totally lush and the bed just tooooo comfortable to leave each morning. The hotel porters, receptionists and waitresses were very pleasant and we were set up each morning with a good selection of breakfast food, both hot and cold, to get us through the day. The hotel is situated in an ideal spot just below Prague castle and we had plenty of interesting places to visit on foot within easy walking distance.
Our room was cleaned very well each day and we felt no intrusion or any wish to hurry us out of the room at any time during our visit. We were also provided with a room to store our luggage on the last day before our evening flight.
Thankyou to Green Lobster/Bijou hotel for our truly memorable stay in the lovely City of Prague. We shall definately return.

We were staying in the second floor of the main building and very dissatisfied with the hotel.

We booked a double room and our 'double bed' were in fact two single beds put together which kept sliding apart throughout the night, creating a space in the middle, hardly making up for a good night's sleep.

The walls of our room were paper thin so we got guests from neighbouring room banging on our wall when we were talking in normal voice in the room at night and could not sleep well in the morning because this time it was them talking and we could hear them clearly.

We complained about both cases in the morning during check out and the management promised to contact us back to resolve the issue. We never heard back from them and after contacting them again, they only offered us a discount on a next stay - not in a thousand years!

All in all, if you are looking for a relaxing break in Prague, I think there are many more hotels in the same historical location better than this one.

I understand the hotel is made out from an historical building but then you don't really perceive this history in your room.
The bathroom was really poor for a 4 stars hotel.

Moreover we could not see on TV any Italian Channel, although present on ASTRA sat, we made a complaint on this to the hotel but even after the coming of an hotel employee nothing changed.

I general the overall rating is poor. The lacking of Euro in the country makes tourists life more convenient compared to other Euro/countries.

This review is on room at 2nd floor but don't rembember exactly the room number

Dear Valued Guest,
thank you for your feedback about your stay.
We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay and our Hotel Green Lobster was not meeting your expectations.
The building belongs to the XIV century and it was refurbished carefully trying to keep its original atmosphere. Some of the rooms have still original hand painted decoration on ceilings. The design and style of each rooms were studied to express its old and historical charme and giving in addition the maximum comfort to our guests and we are sorry if you had a different or "cold" feeling.
I would like also to apologize for the satellite tv issue and we will try to solve it soon in order to improve the service for future guests.
We thank yoiu for your important and sincere contribution and we hope you could reconsider our Hotel in the future.
Best regards,
