“A little gem and free”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

Excellent free museum, Gentleman met us at the door spoke really good english and talked us through the museum. Excellent displays with notes in english explaining some of the history of the Czech war years and struggles thereafter. Up the hill (and it is a climb is the tomb of the unknown soldier and war memorial.

“Very good museum”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

This museum is a little out of the way and does not appear in many of the guidebooks. If you are at all interested in the history of WW1 and 2 this museum has excellent artifacts and displays to educate visitors. There is free entry and it gives the Czech perspective on events during and between the World Wars. The dioramas are superb.

“Free museum with a huge collection”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

As said, the entry is free and even flash photography is allowed. The exhibition itself has a huge assortment of weapons, uniforms and other utilities of the army. Everything is labeled in Czech and English. For families it might not be the best place tough, as there is nothing to try for yourself and many of the guns look the same, so reading is imperative.

A very surprising aspect of the exhibition were the models of battlefields. Some artist must have been really intense about this models, because they were the most fantastic ones I've ever seen. Beautifully aged and even mud, snow, rain and water were depicted realistically.

“Free entry”
Reviewed July 3, 2012 via mobile

Just for the fact its free its worth a visit. Nice collection but lacked information of tanks in my opinion if you dont count the one outside the museum. A must stop if you are climbing the hill up to the monument.

“Nice little place for free!”
Reviewed June 10, 2012 via mobile

Entry is completely free they even put our coats and umbrellas in a cloak room for us for free!
The staff were very friendly and told us were to go
The museum was very well laid out and everything was explained in czech and English!
I found it very interesting and enjoyed the history.
As we were leaving one of the staff asked us if we enjoyed the museum because it's very rare that 2 girls come on there own!! We said yes and had a good little chit chat!!
On the whole enjoyed our visit and liked the staff! would Defiantly recommend this place to all!
