“Exception hotel, but be aware of night time street noise”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

We stayed in room A at the Aurus Hotel, and amazing historical room with great appointments and everything at the hotel was outstanding. Unfortunately, guests should be aware that they are right in the heart of the tourist area and at this time of year, if you want to open the window, know that there are loud, happy, singing people ALL NIGHT LONG, even during the week until 3+ in the morning. We stayed there for four nights, but were exhausted at the end for lack of sleep. Not much the hotel can do about that though....Loved Prague and everything else about the hotel

We stayed at the Aurus for six nights and loved the location and the staff. The history and architecture of the hotel is quite amazing and our suite was very large and roomy. The painted ceiling I awoke to every morning was very beautiful! Very comfortable furnishings with lots of closet and cupboard space. Lovely breakfast buffet with eggs, etc. cooked especially for you each day. All of the main attractions of Prague are within easy walking distance; Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square, Charles Bridge and the Castle area. The staff was very helpful with any questions we had and helped us to find some good evening restaurants. They also provided us with a "to go" breakfast and arranged for a taxi on the morning of our early 6:30 a.m. departure. One small criticism is it is located in a fairly busy area and sometimes had noise later in the evening. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel - it is like an oasis in the middle of Prague.

Stayed here for 4 nights after reading previous reviews.
The tip to get the hotel to book your transport is good as the driver was waiting at the airport- cost 650kr. A trip if taking a cab from the rank should be a little less but we felt safer with the hotel driver.
We were welcomed by name at reception and only had to sign in which is a relief when arriving after dark and you are tired.
Our suite-B- was very roomy, having a double bed in a separate area to the sitting room, a very large bathroom along our own internal corridor and the most elaborate hotel ceiling I have ever seen. My only negative is that the single bed was a pull down- comfortable enough but not in keeping with the fine furniture in the rest of the room.
The room was kept very clean and tidy by the housekeeping, however there is no bin in the sitting room which it does need.
The bathroom has modern fixtures including a corner bath with hand held shower. Towels were plentiful although very big.
Breakfast is bountiful. Fresh fruit salad and continental meats as well as cooked to order eggs and bacon. Coffee and tea, vast selection, is from a machine, still tasty. Service at breakfast is fairly slow with dirty dishes not taken very promptly.
Being located so close to all the old town attractions is great but does come with the price of some occasional night time noise.
These are the criticisms which are only minor and certainly would not put me off another visit here or recommending to others.
The best thing about this hotel is the reception staff who were so helpful and friendly it was almost like coming home at the end of each day.

Room Tip: B is more suited to a couple with a child, under 12 than for 2 single people wanting separate beds.

I would highly recommend Hotel Aurus. My mum and I just spent 5 wonderful days in Prague staying at Hotel Aurus. It is a small boutique hotel steeped in history. The location is outstanding - only a few minutes walk to the Old Town Square in one direction and Charles Bridge in the other direction.
The rooms are very large with a living area and everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The staff were outstanding and went out of there way to help meet our every need. Martina and Lucie at reception were so friendly and helpful arranging tours, tickets for performances and airport transfers. Our cleaning lady each day always had a smile and went out of her way to be helpful as did the lovely young girl who looked after the breakfast room each morning. We are returning to Prague in two weeks and had no hesitation in booking again at Hotel Aurus.

Perfect location, incredible staff (thank you Martina!) and absolutely beautiful little place. I believe there are only 8 units. Ours was enormous! Very old and antique looking which goes great with Prague. Honestly, the location does not get better than this.

The street is quite noisy even into the night but with the windows closed you absolutely cannot hear it. Since there is air conditioning in the bedroom, this was never a problem for us.

We fell in love with Prague and all of our future stays will be at Aurus!

The hotel is nicely located in the old town centre, very close to the Charles Bridge and many other main attractions. The hotel is in an old but very nice building and the rooms are comfortable and spacial, decorated to fit the appearance of the building. The services are exceptionally good. If you need to leave the hotel early in the morning before the hotel serves breakfast, let the reception know and they will prepare nice breakfast for you. We received a lot of assistance from the reception girl Lucie in booking bus tickets and during our tour in the city. Hotel Aurus is definitely a good choice for tourists

I stayed for 2days, and it was great. Very big spacious room. Very clean. Best location in prague between old town square and Charles bridge, very safe. Good breakfast, free wifi, effective AC. Very kind and helpful staff, especially the beautiful reception. Fast elevator. Can't wait to get the chance to visit prague second time to stay at this hotel again.
