We have stayed here in December 2012. I can stay its the one of the best location in the city. All the attractions are waking distance so you don't need any transport really. Staff were very friendly and helpful hotel itself is a bit dated but clean.never had any heating or hot water problem. Because its a city break and we didn't stay much in the hotel so its really doesn't matter. One thing i never get was free champagne with breakfast :)i can say I would stay in same hotel if I visit Prague again one day . Great great city.

Hotel hastal prague is easy to access from airport or main train station.... the hotel is typical a small hotel in an old town with an old architecture... the room is cute with a great view from the window. even it is only a small hotel but they have a great service, they provide a 24 hours coffee service in the lobby area and i cant believe that we also can take wine for free in the receptionist :)
Hotel Hastal Prague is right in the middle of the old town, it is a walking distance to every interesting places i.e castle, churches even close to new town.

If i come back to prague, i will stay in this hotel again and off course will recommend to all travelers.

We love this hotel, well located in the old town area, on a quiet street. Easy walk to the old town square and Charles Bridge. They provide clean & well equipped room with air-conditioner top with buffet breakfast, is value for money deal!
If you travel by train, just drag your luggage to the main street and hop on to Tram 5, the main train station is about 3-4 stations away.

Room Tip: If you do not mind the stairs, ask for the highest floor.

I waffled between rating the hotel a four or a five. I finally decided on a five, based on the overall experience, and age of the hotel.
This hotel is in a central location of the tourist district, or Old Town. It puts the majority of the well known tourist sites within walking distance. It's located in a beautiful part of Prague, whose night time ambiance evokes romance, and intrigue.
We stayed in the honeymoon suite, because it is the only room with a balcony. Even if you're not on your honeymoon or are with a friend, it's worth having to share the only bed, because of the view from the balcony.
The staff is professional, friendly, and will readily answer any questions you may have.
The hotel provides a breakfast that is simply amazing. Really. We could fill up on breakfast, and it would last for many hours. It also saved us by having to pay for one less meal a day.
The detractions are few, but can be slightly frustrating. The internet service is pretty much garbage, but it's better than nothing. The strongest signals seemed to be in the courtyard area. The courtyard area is great. Comfy tables, chairs, shade, and a Golem for protection.
When we were there room service was not available. The air conditioning didn't put much of a dent in the heat, but was tolerable. I have to admit though that I'm a whiny, spoiled person when it comes to heat/cold.
I will definitely stay here again, as I found it to be charming, and old town age appropriate. I'll just come at a time other than summer.

Room Tip: The honeymoon suite is a must

Hastal is a family run hotel. Very friendly, good breakfasts, good location close to Jewish quarter and main areas. Because it is family run, if you discover as we did, you need extra pillow - best to request them in the day time because they do not have the staff available to fetch them at night. Rooms are spacious but beds wicked hard.

Room Tip: Request extra pillows immediately!

We stayed here for five nights while in Prague and were very pleased! The location couldn't be better. It is a 5 minutes walk to Old Town but on a quiet street. The rooms were a nice size and the staff was very friendly. They had a good breakfast although we did find a French restaurant on the way to Old Town and got pastries there a few mornings. The room rate was very reasonable. You do not have to spend a lot for a great stay in Prague!
