I have just returned from a fantastic hen weekend in Prague and stayed at Hotel Hastal. This is my first time to the this beautiful city and the hotels location is perfect - it's 5 mins from the old town square. There are plenty of bars dotted around and loved the fact you had great accommodation to return to not too far away - it cut out the hassle of taxis!

The hotel staff were all very helpful, polite and keen to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The reception desk were brilliant in pointing us in the right direction and showing us where to catch trams etc. The rooms are a very good size, warm and cosy and equipped with mini bar, tv and a radio/iPod docking station. It was very clean and well furnished. The beds were very comfy, with the linen and towels clean and changed daily. I loved the big windows that looked out onto a small snow covered square at the front of the hotel - we were very lucky to have snow, it looked magical!!

Breakfast was European with hot buffet also - very tasty and plenty to go round. We made sure we were down every morning and there was even tea and coffee available free of charge all day!

The hotel also has a bar with wonderfully friendly staff - it was a gathering point for us each night to warm up for a night out. The food here was also amazing and would recommend eating a meal at the hotel if possible! There is also free Internet access here too.

Check out was at 12pm and we were not being collected till 6.30pm but staff were very helpful in offering us a room to store our luggage for the day.

All in all I would say for an affordable weekend break Hotel Hastal is the perfect choice.

We stayed here for 2 nights.

Location is excellent and internet works perfect. Staff is friendly.

Considering this is a 4 star hotel, we booked a Standard room however hotel is far from being a 4 star hotel. Standard room is not what they show on the photos. You can hear ALL conversations of other rooms perfectly.
Bed is just a very thin sponge. we felt as if we are sleeping on the floor. If you have back or health problems, be careful.
Toiletries they have provided were only couple of sachets (shower gel and shampoo all in one).
Breakfast is just OK but not much quality.
It is allowed to smoke in the reception area which is located in the tiny entrance.

Overall, hotel doesn’t have 4 star hotel standards at all. If you are staying only couple of days, you can consider the great location and stay here, but make sure you pay some more and get a superior room or above. If you are staying more than 2 nights, book some other hotel in the center or a hotel with easy transportation access. Prague has an excellent public transportation system.

Room Tip: book superior room or above

Great location with walking access to all parts of the inner city. Very nice reception personnel and good driver arranged for airport transfer. Not so impressed with breakfast, arriving at 08:45 a lot of products were gone and when we asked for some (boiled eggs) they said nothing more was available. There were many others that were arriving at the same time. Seemed inadequate for the number of hotel guests needing breakfast.

This hotel is located perfectly, just five minutes by foot from Old Town Square. It is definately a very cosy part of town, and it is quiet at night.

The building itself is a little worn down and show some sign of aging, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The beds in particular were great! The breakfast were decent but unremarkable.

What sets this hotel apart is the great service and hospitality of the staff! Everyone greets you with a smile on their face and goes out of their way to make sure you get a good experience. Especially the front desk personnel, Thomas and Richard who shared some great information on how to experience Prague a little more "off the track" were very helpful.

Taking the price into consideration, you will be hard pressed to find anything even close to Hastal when it comes to location and service.

Next time we are in Prague, we will definately stay at Hastal!

We found this hotel ideally situated a few minutes walk away from the Old Town.

We traveled with our baby via public transport from the airport on the 119 bus to the Metro station then took the tram to Dlouha Trida and walked around the corner to the hotel, having purchased a 90 minute travel ticket costing less than £1 each. It took less than one hour to reach the hotel from the airport.

We first ended up in a room on the 5th floor next to the lift which we changed instantly because we knew every time the lift was called the mechanics would have woken us. The receptionist was accommodating but the Chambermaid was having a strop about it.

We took a travel kettle with us for the babies bottles, but there is tea and coffee 24/7 free of charge next to reception. They don't have English tea only herb and fruit teas, so take your own!

Rooms are basic, dark wooden old fashioned decor. A little dusty (because of all the panels) but bed and bathroom and floor was nice and clean. I thought the beds were very comfy and our daughter slept very well in her cot and bedding provided.

Breakfast was typical European, bread, cold meat and cheese, cereals and yogurts with some hot dishes which were sausage, scrambled egg and boiled eggs. We always found plenty each time we made it down. They also had one child's high chair. You have to share a table with others at peak times.

Around the corner from the hotel is a lovely coffee shop called "The Bake Shop" , we popped by often for cake and coffee. Also on the way to the castle we found a child friendly restaurant called Mistral Cafe. We loved the changing facilities, child's play area and modern atmosphere and local food.

If you are planning on coming to Prague with a baby, be aware that most places are still smoking and that there is very few high chairs in restaurants and changing facilities in the bathrooms. Make sure you take a travel high chair and a fold away changing mat.

At the end of our stay the hotel kept our suit case whilst we toured more, free of charge.

We did a free green old town tour, which was OK. I thought that the lady could have pointed out more things along the way. You only tip them for the tour, the suggestion is the cost of a meal per person. We ended up giving her around £15.

For the money (around £125 for 3 nights) we thought it was ideally located and would go back.

Room Tip: There is a lift and asking for a view would allow you to see the tops of the buildings and even the...

I stayed at the Hotel Hastal during the Christmas market. The hotel was tucked away just between a few main streets and was a short walk from the main square and thee city hall. The hotel was very affordable and had everything we needed. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

The people working at the front desk was helpful in getting us situated quickly, though during check out the place was a bit crowded and so it took a while to finalize everything-- as I had to catch a train I was glad we had planned ahead properly and started checking out before breakfast.

If you are planning a trip to Prague and looking for an affordable, convenient, friendly place this is a great choice.

I have had most wonderful experience at "Hotel Hastal." The location is just perfect. It is only some five-minute walk from the famous Old-New Synagogue where Rabbi Yehuda ben Bezalel also known as Rabbi Loew of Prague has created his Golem. They say he is still there in the attic of the synagogue. I have greatly enjoyed my stay at "Hastal." The room was neat and cozy. The staff at the hotel are very friendly indeed. I would like to especially thank Eva and Thomas for their exceptional service at the reception. Cheers!
