“Very comfy stay, good location!”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

Location - Andel Metro station is right outside the hotel, directly in front. This helped a lot in easily accessing the tourists spots in the city. I give it a 4 rating since it is 10 minutes away from the Old Town and its not scary to come home late.

The Room - we got a twin room with a private bathroom with hot water. It doesn't look like a first class hotel room but its good enough for someone with a budget. Anyway, the room was spacious and comes with a mini fridge, a flat screen tv, phone, electric water heater (for coffee), hair dryer, aircondioning! The view outside our window was the back of the hotel so its a quiet neighborhood. We saw that some rooms have verandas but ours has none. My only complaint is that each bed only has 1 thin pillow. If you're not a pillow person then that's alright. I just wished there were at least two per person and not too flat. Oh and the wifi is not too strong. My signal goes on and off for some time. But I can post and view FB for a short time. Not good if you expect to video call someone but enough to take a peak at your online social network.

The Reception - the area itself is welcoming with white sofa. The receptionist speaks english well, accomodating enough.

Breakfast - Breakfast is served from 7am-10am. I didn't expect much so I was surprised at the yummy breakfast served buffet style. They served scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, bread, foot long sausages (yum), different cheeses and cold cuts. Of course there are coffee, juices, water and tea. For me, its great breakfast :)

Overall, Akcent hotel is a good find for those within a budget. By the way, our room was approximately 60euros per night which is alright since my friend & I are sharing the bill :) It's not within walking distance from the tourists spots, but it has what we needed so its a VERY GOOD for me!

Just come back from a fab short break in Prague. The hotel was brilliant. Happy smiling staff. Huge light and airy room. Very clean - big balcony. The breakfast catered for all tastes. Eggs, srambled and boiloed. Large selection of meats, cheeses, sausages, fruit, salad, cakes, breads something for everyone. I would recommend this hotel very highly for anyone wanting a holiday in Prague in the centre of things. Well done Akcent

Room Tip: We had roomn 731 - it was large, clean airy and had a huge balcony xxx

My husband and I have stayed at the Akcent hotel on many occasions. The price is always great, but the noise from the pool hall is always a problem and so the noisy clientelle. At night, there seems to always be a drunken crowd at the entryway to the hotel. The breakfast buffet is wonderful and so is the restaurant for dinner and lunch. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Also, the hotel is absolutely enormous and the walk to the room can be very far.

Ok so this hotel leaves something to be desired but like many people I'm sure I paid very little to stay here. With that in mind I couldn't recommend this place enough. I've stayed in budget hotels on city breaks before and this one was easily the best.

I'll start with the negatives. The lift was out of order, my key card would stop working every other day, the pillows are a bit odd and the air con beeped randomly in the night so I had to turn it off.

On the plus side an acceptable breakfast was included, the location is fantastic and we got a really smart, clean, spacious room for a great price. As other reviews have stated the metro is right outside so there is no need to fear travelling home at night. Also there is a nice shopping area down the road with a Tesco and M&S which is great for home comforts for those from the UK.

Overall I'd strongly recommend this hotel to people on a tight budget or those who want more cash for beer. The latter would also be happy to know the famous Staropramen brewery bar is a stone's throw away!

echoing previous reviews, well located'tourist'hotel offering all thats needed for a3or4day trip to prague.it was my first time on this 'side' of the river, finding a 'new' area to wander around and explore<the malostrane area>.a comfortable 30mins walk.also discovered an alternative way into/out of town<100bus to zlinic, then metro>to/from the airport.clientele of hotel mixed which is evident at breakfast, which is adequate but no more.staff helpful as can be when asked.overall worth a visit to stay in the 'andel' area, making a change from the overpriced 'old town'!

I enjoyed staying at this hotel, it was very clean, we had a very spacious room that had a balcony. All of the rooms are on the 7th floor of an old office block - sounds odd but it was good as all the rooms had decent views and there was absolutely no noise from other rooms. Can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't get up early enough for it!
When we first got to the hotel I have to admit I thought it was in a bit of a strage area. But the location is actually really good - literally next to an entrance to Andel metro station which is just a couple of stops away from Prague centre. You can also walk or catach a tram - number 9 was the main one we used.
At the back of the hotel was a little grocery shop selling various things and also there is a shopping centre up the road with a Tesco and McDonalds.
The best tip I would give is to do a day trip to Dresden in Germany - it is only a 2 hour train journey from the main train station (Hlavni Nadrazi) and passes through some of the most beautiful countryside you will ever see.

I spent 3 nights at the Akcent, and it was a very pleasant experience. As others have said, it's not what you'd expect based on the exterior. But once you get inside, the fact that the building doubles as a casino/office building isn't a factor. The staff is friendly and helpful, and most importantly, the rooms are clean and comfortable.

As mentioned, the location, steps from the Andei stop, is very convenient. You can pay more to be right in the middle of everything, but you don't gain much, and you miss out on getting a much better feel for the local flavor of Prague.

I do agree with previous posters in their complaints about the pillows. Even by European standards, they're not great. But otherwise, the room is comfy, the bathroom is clean, and the property is safe and secure. I can't ask much more than that.
