“Fantastic central stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2013

A great hotel close to the city centre and about 20 minutes walk to the old town precinct. Spacious double room with an ultra modern bathroom. Staff were always very friendly and equally helpful. Everything you need for a wonderful stay.

Stayed in their ensuite dorm rooms and I was surprised with the quality. The rooms are extremely spacious and well maintained. Cozy and quiet. Each dormer has a separate hanger, night light, huge locker (bring your own locks) and socket. Their kitchen is well equipped with utensils - even with fridge, a knife and frying pans. A really good find, for a really good price.

The staff was very helpful and patient in giving us directions and recommendations. The location is not central, but it is a tram or metro ride away from the Old Town. It is quite easy to get to and from the place.

The upside of staying in this side of town is that food options are much cheaper. The price of the dishes are CZK 100-150 less than what you can get from the restaurants at the Old Town area. The hostel is near this great restaurant Pivovarsky Dum which serves great Czech beer.

I would probably suggest that they have a full shower curtain, and a soap dish in the shower stall where you can place your things.

This review is based on receiving a very nice upgrade the day we arrived from a basic ensuite room to the penthouse apartment (I did say very nice), so obviously my evaluation is a touch biased. However, I will say that the penthouse apartment was outstanding, extremely clean, with lots of modern touches (ultra-trendy bathroom, full kitchen, king bed, and enormous). The place is basically a hostel, so there are a lot of younger people (we are in our mid-twenties) so it this allows for a couple of extras including a "free" guided tour of the city (tips are requested and deserved) and a pub crawl.

Another great bonus is the 7 euro breakfast which was excellent. Far from the "croissant and a coffee" affair, this breakfast includes made-while-you-wait omelettes, pancakes, bacon, sausage as well as a wide assortment of fruit served in a very cozy basement lounge. Another nice benefit is that the reception desk has public transit tickets for sale. Add reliable wifi service and 24 hr door staff, and for the price of a solid pension you get a top-notch stay.

The only "negative" is that it is a 15 min walk from the old town. This was not a major problem for us, but some might prefer to be closer. However, for trips to Prague Castle, the hotel is right next to the #22 tram which takes you straight there.

Older buildings in Prague 2 being remodeled to very modern, contemporary style. Our room on the top floor was well equipped incl kitchenette, comfortable, quiet, and well secure. Exceptional breakfast in a charming little area. All employees were most pleasant. We are older people and would recommend this to younger travelers. Centrally located to walk and ride trams.

We stayed at miss sophies for a week in april, renting one of the apartments. This is something that we really recommend if you're planning to stay more than a weekend. the czech cuisine might be a little over the top if you're not used to this kind of food and beer.
So... what about a review on the apt? Well, the combined livingroom and bedroom was so nice! High ceilings, huge windows that let the morning and evening light in. Very comfy beds. Beautiful spa-inspired bathroom with a almost addictive rain-shower! The kitchen was nice, even though it wasnt that equipped as the description on the web-site. We didn't have an oven, maybe it was just our apt that didnt have it? The staff was very nice and service-minded. Beware of the elevator though, we got stuck a couple of times, but it started working again when we pushed another button! =D
The hotel is located a short walk from the subway and tram that works excellent and it is a cheap alternative to taxi. If you take the subway to Wenceclas Square we recommend you to by some cheese and real butter from the Formaggeria on the corner close to Burger King.

Room Tip: Choose the apartment if you can afford it.

Very nice staff, excellent buffet, a little bit far from the Charles' Bridge and Staromestske (old town square) but in general, pretty nice place. From the first moment you go to the Front Desk you receive the best attention letting you know about the best choices you can make for transportation and all the best practices you can have during your stay in Prague.

When I was looking for accommodation in Prague I was initially worried that this might be a hostel. However, the apartment was self contained and provided a great base for my stay.

The service was excellent, and the apartment was only a short walk from new town.

Would heartily recommend staying here. I certainly will next time I go!
