“Great hotel for a couples break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2014 via mobile

Loved the hotel..stayed for 3 nights..had one incident at the restaurant where we were charged for 2 rather expensive glasses of champagne when we under the impression they were going to be complimentary based on the way te waiter approached our table an offered us the drinks...this was quickly rectified the next day by the hotel manager giving us a voucher for the restaurant to compensate being charged for the drinks. This hotel has a great spa and we had a lovely massage. I think the temperature in the pool could be hotter. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel if staying in Prague. Location is great and hotel staff were very approachable.

I booked this hotel form my husbands 50th birthday what can I say ...WOW! It is like stepping into a fairy tale. We were collected by the hotels own driver in a gorgeous BMW. We felt like celebrities! The driver was so welcoming and pleasant and carried our luggage in for us. As you walk into the entrance of the hotel it is amazing. A beautiful welcoming courtyard with red carpet a lovely seated area with candles on the tables and the staff are wonderful. Really professional, friendly and helpful staff. They make it feel very special, nothing is too much trouble. We could not believe on check in we were offered refreshing towels and a welcoming glass of champagne! The staff carried our luggage to and from our rooms for us. The lounge area is beautiful with gorgeous chairs, and beautiful pictures and chandeliers. We had a lovely buffet breakfast and took advantage of the cheese and wine that they offer each evening between 5-6 pm. This is definitely worth doing. The extra touches to your visit make it magical and romantic. The staff even offered to turn the bed down with chocolates!

We also enjoyed using the very magical spa facilities. On our last night even though we had checked out we were offered the chance to store our luggage and make use of the pool and spa. We were given keys and on opening the locker found fluffy white towels, a dressing gown and slippers! We had the facilities all to ourselves which was heavenly, which could also be made into a large jacuzzi! Just what we needed after all that walking around Prague.

If you want a truly memorable, romantic and magical stay this is definitely the hotel to book. Thank you so much to all the staff who all made it such a wonderful break.

Room Tip: The cheese & wine is worth trying and you must try the pool and spa.

We were simply blown away by this hotel. My goodness, these people know how to run a hotel

The hospitality was second to none from the moment we arrived in their airport limousine to the moment we left. A warm welcome on arrival accompanied by a glass of champagne.

Our room was stunning. This is definitely a special place and you would kick yourself if you arrived here alone and had no one to share the experience with.

The beautiful chocolate cafe on site was right up our street too - chocolate heaven indeed.

The spa treatments were so relaxing and the staff were consummate professionals. We felt very pampered and relaxed.

The hotel is quietly situated in a very upmarket and exclusive area of Prague but just a couple of minutes walk from the lovely "Mala Strana" area that stretches from Charles Bridge up to the Castle ( our favourite area of the city). It's nice to get away from the madding crowds of this lovely city and the Alchmyst Grand is an oasis of calm which is close enough for convenience but far enough away to be totally peaceful.

You will not regret booking to stay here.

Room Tip: I cannot imagine any of the rooms being less than perfect

Loved every minute. The staff are very welcoming and made us feel at home. The little details made a difference too ie. glass of bubble upon check in ,chocolates in bed with turnover service, bottle of wine left in our room with the compliments of the hotel on Valentines Day =-). The elegant restaurant in the hotel is great too!

Big thank you to ALL staff member for making our trip so pleasant.

Room Tip: Try the junior suite if you prefer something bigger and far from the hotel front above the reception...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights with our best friends. We had a superb time making the most of the fabulous breakfast and wine and cheese hour. Our room was luxuriously decorated, reached via a hallway with built in wardrobes and off to the right was great bathroom, the size of a small hotel room! The renewed tea, coffee and water was fab and a great way to unwind after a long day of pounding the streets. We had a window out onto the street, which we had open during the night as it was quite warm (as per other reviews). The location of this hotel is fantastic and we made the most of this walking everywhere. We felt incredibly safe as the hotel is opposite an embassy. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance, but you must go to the wine and cognac bar at the bottom of the road, which was so much fun! The staff were helpful and friendly and we know they would have helped had we needed them to do anything. The whole hotel was great and if we were going to splash out again we would.

We stayed for a weekend (business/pleasure mix) so wanted a change from the normal but characterless 4*/5* major chains. Having seen the excellent reviews beforehand were a little suspicious. However, we were not disappointed - the room was very comfortable and well-appointed, a top-class restaurant and spa/leisure facility and extremely helpful and polite staff. The concierge service is worthy of particular mention as they pointed us in the direction of a few superb restaurants and bars that made for a wonderful stress-free weekend. Make sure you meet Ahmed Moustafa, the very professional Front Office Manager. His happy and helpful character have clearly rubbed off on the general staff and we'll definitely be going back. Absolutely loved it.....From the minute we arrived to the minute we left the service was second to none. We were greeted by very friendly staff and welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine. The room was great although a little small and not a lot of surface space in the bathroom for toiletries etc. We had a bottle of wine delivered to the room because we had used American Express to pay, also chocolates from the hotel shop/café were left every evening for us. The hotel also has an hour of tasting local wine and cheeses every evening. Are room included breakfast which was very nice with a selection of everything you could want.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Charles bridge and also Prague Castle and around half an hour from the airport. The hotel is absolutely stunning and has to be seen!!
