This is a wonderful old style hotel that is completely updated in everyway. You really appreciate the history of Prague staying here - not only in the hotel, but also by it's location. We were a family (2 Adults and 2 children ages 9 and 10) and opted to stay in the Tower Suite. It was absolutely magical. While the bathrooms were alittle small - having the alcove for the kids to sleep in - falling asleep looking at the roof of St Nicholas Church at night will never, ever leave our memories! The staff was absolutely wonderful - the breakfast kept us going all thru the day. Go and enjoy!

Room Tip: The Tower room was perfect for us - 2 adults and 2 children (9 and 10). Very magical

We booked a junior sweet that was quite spacious. The room is romantic with an ornate gold trimmed bed and two floor length mirrors. There is an ample sized armour for clothing and large bathroom with tub/shower combination. The breakfast buffet is satisfying for any one used to large American breakfasts. On the weekend they serve Czech wines and cheeses in the late afternoon. Great place to meet with other travelers to exchange experiences. Most importantly, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They made dinner recommendations and transportation accomodations anytime we asked for assistance. The hotel is at the foot of the Prague Castle hill. You can either walk to the castle or take the Vanicular which is just two blocks away. You are also within walking distance of the Charles Bridge and Old Town. Highly recommend this hotel. Hope to return

This hotel is a true gem-- unique and boutique-style luxury accommodations. The staff was amazing--even setting up a wifi network for us to use when we did not receive good reception in our room. This is the best place to stay in Prague and I highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel in the Prague style. Service was perfect...very warm and personable from the very first moment we arrived. We booked a junior suite. It was spacious and gorgous (could have used a sofa). Complete breakfast. We loved the patio area and the dessert/coffee shop. Afternoon wine and cheese were a lovely bonus and nice way to socialize. Location was perfect for us. Quiet, but an easy walk to Old Town Square. Right next to St Nicholas Cathedral where we enjoyed a beautiful organ recital with mezzosoprano one evening. The spa is a knock out. Just like being in Bali! We booked massages and they were excellent. Thank you Alchymist Grand!

This is a very nice hotel and will be most likely unlike any hotel you have stayed in with it antiques and the general age of the Hotel. The building dates back to 1517. I would give it 5 stars but for the money it is what I would determine to be very good.

The rooms are all unique so for me to tell you about the one specific room we were in is of no value. Suffice to say that it has mostly modern updates to all aspects of the hotel. The TV is tiny but who goes to Prague to watch TV.

The A/C seemed to turn itself on and off despite what temperature you set it at. If you are coming in July or August make sure you know how to work the AC or you will find yourself sweating at 2 AM!

Don't miss the free wine at 5-6 as you will meet some neat people. Breakfast was superb and included.

Prague Castle was not worth it for those on a budget. If you stay here you mostly are not on a budget but wanted to include that comment.

Stayed at the Alchymist Grand for 1 week during our visit to Prague.
Boutique style hotel was just fantastic. Every corner of the hotel had something interesting to see. Our room was very spacious with a very large bathroom and great water pressure.
Staff at the hotel was very courteous. Each and every day, staff greeted all guests which is such a nice touch. The breakfast was very nice! We would definitely stay at this hotel on our next visit to prague as it's just the perfect spot for staying in the heart of Prague but yet tucked away. If you like a hotel with a spa, this one is so.... nice! Overall this hotel in my opinion is one of the best in Praque!
