We chose this hotel for its location and because it was described as a boutique hotel and we were not disappointed. It is perfectly placed for visiting all the main attractions. The suites are extremely spacious and comfortable and there is a mini kitchen with tea and coffee facilities and a fridge. This is not a large modern hotel but a beautiful old building with an inner courtyard, a former home of Mozart. Our large bay windows overlooked the front of the building and afforded a delightful view of the Charles Bridge. Unfortunately towards the end of our visit the front of the building was undergoing some work and scaffolding obscured that view. We found the staff extremely helpful and courteous. The only downside was in the way that the price was quoted. Although the cost was in euros, in the small print the hotel required settlement of the bill in local currency and obviously applied a less than favourable conversion rate. This added to the overall cost but was still worthwhile because the hotel delivered on all other levels.

Room Tip: I think it is worth requesting a room overlooking the front of the building. Although it may be noisier because there is a road in front, the view is charming.

The location was even more convenient than we had hoped. Besides being close to the bridge, there are a handful of very good restaurants and bars within a few minutes of walking.

I didn't think to take "Suite Hotel" part of their name literally. The room we had on the ground floor was surprisingly spacious. It was more like an apartment. I actually had to check our rate and reservation to be sure such a huge room wasn't someone's mistake.

We did not spend too much time in the hotel but from what we can tell it was clean and the staff seemed willing to please. It's never fun to stay in a hotel that is doing renovations but it didn't impact our stay at all. I'd rather see a hotel under renovations then stay in a place that looks like it desperately can use them. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The hotel is perfectly situated to have a great view of the bridge and castle.

As enthusiastic as we were about staying at this hotel, a few things should be noted. First of all, be sure to print and carry with you all the arrangements you make with the Pachtuv. We had problems with the price they quoted us and it was only because we had the written confirmation that they agreed to honor it although the discussion was ongoing until the moment we checked out. Moreover, they had no record of a separate reservation that we had cancelled by telephone and tried to charge us for that too. The staff did not appear to share the information about our account with one another either and this surely prolonged the negotiating process. Since the hotel was in the midst of a renovation (we knew this) they assured us that we wouldn't be in a suite whose windows would be occluded yet all our windows that faced the street were covered in heavy plastic. One staff member voiced surprise we were even put in that suite at all. Something minor but annoying occurred at the end when we asked them very specifically to arrange for a mini van to take us to the train station since there were four in our party with four large suitcases. The front desk ordered a car that was clearly too small and she had to call another one. Luckily we made it to the train. Having said all that, the rooms were spotless, the breakfast was just lovely and I'm sure the restaurant, when it reopens, will be wonderful too. We were pleased with many aspects of our stay at the Pachtuv but we expected a more professional staff.

The hotel is very nice, with a great view, and a great deal for those over 55. The suites are large, comfortable and quiet(double, double windows). The location cannot be beat.
Our only problem was with the front desk. We tried to switch rooms within our group and was met with a cold shoulder that extended throughout our stay. So bad that some didn't want to approach her despite a need.
Also the waiter in the breakfast area offered a menu the first day, but it seemed like when he knew we were on one of there plans, it took some effort to get fresh eggs, etc. Never saw the menu again.
Service, Service Service makes a great hotel. This one has all the potential, but needs work in this area

Loved the hotel. Very roomy rooms, great views of the Charles Bridge, perfect position. Loved Prague. Restaurant in the hotel was not very good and overpriced. We ate mostly next door which was excellent.
