My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at this hotel for our honeymoon. Check-in was easy, and the 24/7 concierge offered us pamphlets for local attractions. We were shown to a spacious first-floor suite which had a large sitting room, powder room, 2 BRs, and a large double-sink bathroom. Everything was clean and well decorated. We were treated to free champagne and faux rose petals on our bed, which were a nice (if cheesy) touch. Bathrobes, slippers, and hair dryer were provided. The hotel staff was courteous and professional. Each day, we received a flyer with the following day's weather report and suggestions on what to do. The concierge also lent us an adapter after we discovered that we'd purchased the wrong one.

PROs: The Pachtuv Palace was great, but its best selling point is its location. The hotel was the perfect launching point to see Prague: just a block from the Charles Bridge, and within easy walking distance to Prague Castle, Old Town, New Town, and pretty much every sight worth seeing in the city. The location can't be beat.

CONs: As others have mentioned, the tub/shower combination is a bit awkward, and guests should be careful when stepping out of the high tub, as it can be slippery. The bed was also too soft for our tastes, but I think that's a fault with hotel beds generally.

OVERALL: We had a great, quiet stay and would recommend this hotel without reservation.

This hotel is situated very near the Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square, ideal for walking to all places of interest. My room had a wonderful view of the river, the Charles Bridge and the castle. The four-poster bed was quite comfortable. The quiet in the room, due to double windows, was almost tomb-like. The spacious, sleek bathroom with double sinks was outstanding. The combination tub/shower was a bit awkward but not really a problem. The staff was courteous and efficient. I recommend using the hotel's driver, especially if you're arriving at night at the airport as I did. Even though this hotel is in a palace with much history, don't expect old world charm. It has been converted into a quite contemporary property. In fact, I never even saw the advertised frescoed ceiling. One does not come and go through a traditional lobby (more less from the street to an elevator) which makes the hotel seem less personal and inviting. I tried breakfast once and it was convenient but not special or worth the price. The hotel's clientele seems to be older and well-heeled -- don't expect an exciting crowd to hang with. I do recommend this hotel because of it's perfect location and the quality of the rooms.

Even though we arrived long before check-in, we were offered a welcome drink (champagne) and after completing registration were shown directly to our room. What a room it was...very large, a king size canopy bed, sitting area, armoir which contained tea/cofee service/fridge, large bathroom complete with bathrobes, slippers, etc....definately did not feel like a hotel room. The courtyard is lovely. Service was excellent. The location is well located by the Charles Bridge...probably one of the best locations in Prague! Would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here last week for four nights on our mini-moon. Check in was pleasant and swift and the staff very friendly. We were upgraded to a suite which was really spacious and extremely well decorated. The bed was massive and extremely comfortable. The staff went out of their way to help us. While here it was my 40th and they brough champagne and cake for breakfast! Excellent location - 2 mins to the Charles Brisge and 5 mins to the old town square. The only complaint is that they do not have irons in the rooms (company policy) and during our stay there were building worsk outside of our room which woke us early. If not for these then it would be 5 start. We would come back without hesitation.

We stayed here when we came to Prague to get married and it was excellent. A beautiful hotel with courteous staff and excellent breakfast. We we're lucky enough to get upgraded and the room didn't disappoint. They gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne on the wedding day itself and the porters decorated the bed with rose petals. It made our wedding that extra bit special.

After some research we decided to book this hotel for our anniversary weekend away, using our Avios miles (thanks BA!). The hotel is stunningly beautiful and very well located by the Charles Bridge.
We arrived in the late morning having caught the 07:50 flight from LHR and although getting to the hotel by taxi earlier than the stated check-in time, it was not an issue, a nice touch to be offered drinks and seats, whilst the formalities were dealt with.
The suite was huge with high ceilings and a four-poster bed, separate living room with a kitchen area - very classy, high ceilings beautiful drapes, I would have been happy to stay much longer.
There are flat screen tv’s in each room and a comprehensively stocked minibar. Also highly efficient air-conditioning, which we appreciated as it was hot weather.
We decided to take an open top vintage car tour of the City, which was arranged quickly and easily by the concierge desk. On the internet, we also booked our
Saturday night out on the Jazz Boat, cruising on the river, taking the dinner option, (you can choose from chicken/pork/salmon – we had pork – very tasty!). Booked a table on the upper, outside deck, which was great on such a lovely evening.
When booking excursions through the hotel it is sensible to pay with cash as that saves the 10% tax or service charge (not sure what it was?).
We ate late breakfast at the hotel each morning, as the buffet was included in our booking and it was fine, although the plates were very small and so we needed to juggle several to get a sensible size breakfast. Apparently larger ones are available on request.
Next to the hotel is a great bar/restaurant called School, where we ate out on our first night, very nice food and we enjoyed mojitos and Czech beer.
There are lots of places to just sit, in and around the hotel, to take in the beautiful surroundings - the hotel has a nice, scenic and quiet courtyard area, where you can also be served drinks or dinner.
Recommend picking up some local currency from the cash machines on arrival at the airport, as although it is possible to pay for stuff with euros, the exchange rate varies depending on the restaurant and having Czech currency is easier and cheaper.
This hotel is the kind of place where you can treat yourself and be completely indulged. Prague is a beautiful city.
For a romantic weekend away, I recommend this hotel highly. Complimentary Wi-Fi throughout, worked very well.
If we were to return to Prague we would have no hesitation in staying here – it is fabulous!!!

in fact, we think the only location in Prague. We had a lovely room on the third floor, with view of the bridge and river. We stayed during the heat-wave and were very happy to have the air con. Large comfy bed, big bathroom and a separate toilet. Bathrobe, slippers and designer toiletries. A build in unit with fridge and Tchibo coffee machine and lovley herbal teas. Staff absolutley fantastic, very attentive. We stay there again, it was fabulous.
