“Great romantic hotel in a perfect location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2011

Just back from 4 nights at the Pachtuv Palace, which I can't praise highly enough. Our room was huge. Actually, it was a large living room, large enough for 2 sofas and a kitchenette, and a large bedroom looking straight at the Charles Bridge and the Prague Palace Complex. Big windows that opened on 2 sides with romantic, flowy curtains. The location couldn't have been better, right near all the historic sights. The bed was more comfortable than our bed at home. The place is full of charm and definitely 5 star comfort. Try to get a room on the front (towards the river). Staff was very friendly and helpful.

My daughter (10yrs) and I were welcomed into our room at the hotel with a teddy bear and a bottle of (non alcoholic) bubbly on ice which I thought was absolutely wonderful and thoughtful of them, and my daughter felt very special. The room had a separate kitchen area with coffee machine, and the bathroom was huge, as was the room/lounge area. The turn down service with the floor mats, weather update and chocolates was much appreciated. The staff were very helpful and breakfast was the best during our stay through Europe. We were on the first floor and facing the courtyard but had no noise issues. Location- Fantastic

This was by far our favorite hotel during our trip across Eastern Europe last summer. Location is perfect. Staff were so helpful and accommodating. The manager arranged for a driver to pick us up from the train station so we would not have to deal with the local taxi drivers who apparently have a tendency to overcharge tourists. Room was extremely comfortable with exquisite decor. This is a first class establishment but not overpriced. Would highly recommend and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Prague.

I'm Eliza from Greece and i visit Prague with my boyfriend in March 2011. When we entered in our room we couldnt believe our eyes!! It was was very big, and bright. It had all the comforts needed (kitchenette with free cafe and tea, tv,dvd etc.). The quality of the mattress was excellent and the bathtub had iner lights! The room was cleaned every morning and every afternoon when we returned from our walks the lights were open and there was a paper with information-suggestions for things to do-visit the next day, along with weather broadcast and of course chocolates! Very important was the fact that the hotel's location is the best anyone can ask. It is 5-8 min far from Charles bridge, yet it is in a street with no noise at all!! The staff was very polite and they spend at least 20min to show us the populare sights in the map (that they offered us for free) and how to get to all of them. Overall it was an incredible stay that we certainly wont forget and that we 'll remember for a lifetime (or better until we visit prague and the PACHTUV PALACE again!!)

I cannot say enough about this wonderful Hotel and its equally wonderful staff.
The location was stunning. We were greeted with flutes of sparkling wine whilst we registered.
Our large beautifully decorated suite directly overlooked the river, the Charles Bridge and the magnificent Prague Castle. The amenities were first class and included a discretely placed kitchenette in a reproduction period cupboard in the sitting room.
The staff was prompt to assist us at all times.
The front desk organised dinner reservations, limousines, and a personal tour guide during our stay.
This proved to be invaluable as my husband has been injured in an accident in France and complications had arisen. On arriving at the Hotel I requested a doctor and within 40 minutes, reception had organised an English speaking doctor to be in our suite. Consequently, my husband needed some minor surgery, CT scans etc. - the medical attention he received was excellent.
Supporting this rush of activity was the Hotel staff organising limousines to transport my husband to appointments etc. and when we finally had time to do some modified sightseeing, they organised a private tour guide for us.....just wonderful.
I strongly recommend using the limousines organised by the hotel rather than taxis. The cost is comparable and it is charged directly to your account. The taxis we used were very dirty and rundown.
Getting the Hotel to organise a personal tour guide is also an option worth considering if you are pressed for time or prefer the personal tour experience. It is a little more expensive but well worth it. This cost is also added to your hotel account so there is no need to worry about carrying a lot of cash with you. Our tour guide was outstanding and she was well aware of our limitations walking wise.
Dining at Amade Restaurant was first class and the service was excellent. We enjoyed breakfast each morning in the Hotel. A wide variety of both hot and cold item were available.
Mamaison Pachtuv Palace Prague is an outstanding hotel staffed by people who provide the best personal service I have experienced in a long time.
It comes highly recommended.

Room Tip: Request a suite facing the river and Prague Caste

Just returned from a 3 night break to Prague where we stayed at the Mamaison Pachtuv Palace Hotel. Our room was fantastic (Room 406) with amazing views of the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. There was a tiny kitchen hidden inside the lounge cupboard which could be used for cooking etc., although we didn't make use of it during our stay it was a nice touch. The bed was very comfy and there was no outside noise at all which meant a peaceful night's sleep. The bathroom was clean and fresh and the L'Occitane products in the bathroom were a lovely touch. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel as we had read on trip advisor that it was a bit pricy - we ate breakfast in the Pheonix Restaurant (which was next door to the hotel) one morning, and at the Klub Lavka (across the road) the other mornings. The location and views from Klub Lavka were fantastic and was a perfect start to the day. The food at the Pheonix was also lovely, but the weather was so nice we chose to eat outside on the last two mornings. Prague is a beautiful city and we managed to see most of the main sights during our stay. I think we were very lucky to have chosen the Pachtuv Palace as its location was amazing as was the weather for the time of the year.
