“Absolutely gorgeous building”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

This building is an art nouveau masterpiece. It has a concert hall, exhibition rooms, a couple of restaurants and a bar. If you are in Prague before July 2013, do not miss the Alfons Mucha posters exhibition.

“Get thee to the Kavarna!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013 via mobile

This building is beautiful, but the best part is the kavarna, a beautiful coffeehouse, where one can order coffee, but also wonderful desserts, beer and wine.

“prague symphony orchestra”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

75 minutes of brilliant music in at superb Art Nouveau auditorium
The only downside was the room was quite warm and the seats were very uncomfortable so I would take a cushion next time.

“Mucha, Mozart & The Davis Cup”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

We visited the Obecni Dum on Monday 29 April 2013 quite unplanned.
We had a very pleasant coffee in the magnificant surroundings of the art-noveau cafe. The prices are steep but the surrounding glamour makes it all worthwhile.
We then bought tickets for the Ivan Lendl:Alfons Mucha exhibition which was superb. As we had not joined a tour of the building it also gave us an opportunity to see some of the interior of the building. An added & fortunate bonus for us tennis fans was the fact that the Davis cup was on exhibition for that day only with the Mucha works.
While we we there we then decided to buy tickets for a Prague Royal Orchestra performance that evening in the Smetana Hall. One tip here.. we bought seats in Area B & were told that the seating was first come first served & that we could not book any specific seats. We were there early & choose seats at the front of this section only to be moved later by an usher who was persuaded by other clients that they were allocated specific seats (ours) in this section. This was very disappointing. The hall was less than one sixth full in any event.
The hall itself is splendid & well worth a visit.
