“Beautiful museum with interesting exhibits inside and out”
Reviewed September 27, 2011

First, the space is gorgeous. The courtyard, small exhibit hall and gift shop are really nice. But the main attraction has to be the blue glass roff/deck with sculpture that juts out. It is really magnificent. As is the upper deck which is small but has really unusual views of the castle and river for photos.

The exhibits are a bit all over the place but the art is engaging and is a good cross-section of Prague modern art.

I spent 2.5 hours and could have stayed longer. It was sucha beautiful day and I was fascinated by the blue glass deck!

“Great museum of modern art”
Reviewed August 13, 2011

This is worth a visit if you're looking to see some modern art in Prague (though don't miss the Veletrzni Palace National gallery either). The highlight here is the permanent collection of Wassily Kandinsky, František Kupka, and Arnold Schönberg works. Amazing!

Best way to get here is to walk through the park from near the Charles Bridge on the Mala Strana side.

“Magnificent collection of contemporary art”
Reviewed June 14, 2011

For some reason the Kampa doesn't make any "must visit" lists for Prague. It should be at the top. The building is a fascinating piece of architecture, right on the water. The views from the rooftop are spectacular, bring your camera. And the collection is remarkable - paintings, sculpture, first-rate installations. Not to be missed.

“don't miss!”
Reviewed November 1, 2010

Small museum tucked behind the Charles Bridge. Hard to find .mostly sculpture but nothing like you have ever seen before Native work. Collected by Czech lady during the cold war. She built this museum to showcase these works. Spent one whole day there. Got goose bumps. Never felt that way in the Louvre!
