The food here is very nice and affordable. You can just top up 10kc to add a soup or salad. Another 10kc will get you desserts (you get to choose 1 bigger slice of cake or 2 smaller desserts). The pork tenderloin that I had was so tender and juicy, and the soups were nice too. They typically have 5 main dishes to choose from, and the dishes are displayed so that you know exactly what you are ordering. The menu is also changed daily, I came back for lunch twice in a row! If you come too late, some of the dishes might be sold out. So try to come before 1pm. Highly recommended.

Arrived in Prague after a long overnight flight and found this place right by the Hilton Hotel. They have a visual "menu" with examples of each of the plates and an optional self-serve soup and salad bar. Being unfamiliar with Czech cuisine, this was quite helpful. Food was delicious, affordable and brought out quickly.

Very good meal, selection from cold and warm dishes made me very happy. Price is great, Seating in the garden is also pleasant. So there is no reason why to not repeat it again.

Our school group from Singapore was visiting nearby educational institutions in Prague met a long queue at Jídelna Tesnov. Fortunately, Café Merkur next door offered competitive lunch menu. Romana, Bara and Ilona were friendly enough to make last minute arrangements to accommodate our 20 hungry students.

The food was delicious and the ambience was excellence. Highly friendly and competent staff. Top choice for visitors.
