The key point for this accommodation is location. You are literally 5 doors up form the Charles bridge and easy walk of everywhere in the city. We arranged a taxi through the accommodation, which was perfect and for the extra few euro it cost, the elimination of hassle is worth it.
It is a B&B style accommodation so there was no one there to meet us, but the taxi driver gave us the key. It is a pay up front deal as per any B&B. The rooms are big and sparse but have what’s needed (including a safe) with the exception of a full-length mirror for herself. The two single beds are pushed together and what I did find annoying was having two single duvets instead of a double.
Rooms were clean and well maintained.
Overall this place is fine for the money but set your expectations appropriately. Breakfasts are good and set you up nicely for the day.
I would recommend it but have not stayed elsewhere in Prague so cannot give a relative opinion. Prague generally is a nice place but quite expensive relative to other eastern European cities.

Charles Bridge Residence is a pure gem ! We were welcome by Michal who was very kind and provided us with all kind of information including the weather forecast for a week ! Our room on the 3rd floor was huge and very clean. Bathroom was lovely with a great shower. Location is just perfect, very close to Charles Bridge, in a street which can be quite crowded during the day but absolutely quiet at night. And it's on the right part of the bridge (not the over crowded one), close to every attractions. Breakfasts were gorgeous, American style, at the Bohemia Bagel, on the other side of the street. We really had a great stay and would definitely come back again !! Warmly recommended.

My partner and I stayed at the residence for four nights.
The room was huge, clean, and simply but comfortably decorated.
The linens were extremely comfortable. Our room was in the back of the building, so it was extremely quiet and private.
The only drawbacks were that our bed was made of two twin beds pushed together that tended to separate by morning and that sometimes the lock on our door was uncooperative.
The best part of this residence is the location! It's on the other side of the river from Stare Mesto. It's a little quieter and less crowded, but close enough to walk to everything. The castle is literally a 10 minute walk up the hill. The host, Mikhal, was extremely welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for good value.

My cousin and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at The Charles Bridge Residence having selected it based on reviews from Trip Advisor.

We paid €109 per night for the room, which is in a fab location right next to Charles Bridge. It takes about 5-10 minutes to get the Old Town main square/Astronomical Clocks, and about 15-20 minutes to get to Wencelas Square.

There is no hotel reception, but Michael met us on our arrival with a map of the city, a printed weather forecast for the next few days, and other useful information e.g. how to get last minute tickets to the opera. The Residence will arrange airport transfers and tickets on request. A transfer from the airport cost us 690 koruna / £23 each way. It would obviously have been a lot cheaper to get a bus (to Dejvicka) then metro (I think Malostranska is the nearest metro to the Residence), but we were being lazy!

Breakfast isn't provided in house, but you get vouchers (approx €8 per person per day) to use in Bohemia Bagel just over the road. The vouchers can be redeemed between 7:30 - 11:30am - which is really handy if you've been out late the night before / aren't an early riser! There's a fab selection including American Pancakes, a full English or some of the best scrambled eggs I've ever had - so even if you don't stay at Charles Bridge, I would still highly recommend a visit Bohemia Bagel.

The room was a very good size and included very comfy beds, a good size bathroom with shower, a hairdryer, a safe and a fridge. On the negative side, hot water was a bit hit and miss at certain times of the day and it was a shame shame there were no tea or coffee making facilities. However, I would still recommend this to anyone looking for a centrally located B&B.

I booked three rooms for this return trip to Prague for my 50th birthday celebration. I booked direct with the hotel and any information I needed before travelling was always answered promptly by the manager. The rooms were just as clean as our previous stay and I was pleased to see the addition of a small fridge in the rooms.

The breakfast in a cafe just in the square [1 min walk] was really good with plenty of choice. The rooms all have heaters which can be controlled by the guests.

This time we took up the offer of using the transport they offered to and from the airport. Whilst it was good service and on time it was about £12 more expensive than the company we used the first time, so I wouldn't book that service again.

This residence is in a very central place and I would highly recommend it.

We arrived at night to see a fairytale all lit up and come to life! Spectacular buildings and statue monuments in magnificent colours - This city is alive - especially at night! The apartment is newly renovated, and the staff were very helpful. There seemed to be only a few rooms, but if you can get accommodation here, you won't be disappointed - they are so spacious! The bed is huge! Bathroom is great. There is a refrigerator and television, and we had the view of the street below leading up to the famous Charles Bridge. Being in such a great location, we had pole position views of a Police orchestral march below from our very own windows. Breakfast is fantastic, and only about a 100 metre walk in the morning to the "Square" Restaurant which is really quite refreshing. We even went there on occasion for lunch and dinner! Plenty of restaurants, shops and bars surround. The Castle is easily accessible by foot from here also. Be prepared to do some walking to soak up all the sights, or you can opt for one of the local personal tour guides in the mini cars to save your feet. The weather became quite stifled Would DEFINITELY stay here again.

We didn't get the nice view shown in the photos posted on this web site because I had asked for a quiet room and the quiet rooms are at the back of the hotel. The room was quiet, but all we could see out our window were white walls.

When we were there (June, 2007) it was quite warm so we had to open the windows which had no screens. We had little insects at night, but luckily nothing that bit.

The bathroom was nice. It was large, very modern, clean, and with plenty of hot water. The shower stall was quite small, but OK. We were supplied with clean towels everyday and also the room was cleaned each day. The nice cleaning lady also understood our "sign language" for a fan and she gave us small one. There was a hair dryer in the bathroom, a safe and a small refrigerator in the room.

To me, the room looked very empty. It was large, but not cozy or quaint, just a big old empty room. The staircase was depressing. But then, we were coming from the lovely Spiess & Spiess Appartement-Pension in Vienna, which is a very hard act to follow. We would try a different hotel in Prague next time.
