Vegansky Svet is an Asian vegan restaurant very much in the mould of Loving Hut. It is located in Prague's 5th district just behind the west bank of the river. It is not in the most obvious of locations for travellers to pass by as it is not in the main tourist parts of Prague.
Everything about Vegansky Svet says Loving Hut, it is run by East Asians, it is vegan, it serves a mix of vegan fast food and East Asian dishes, it has a nice relaxing ambience with the sound of running water. On the plus side there's no sign of the Supreme Master who makes Loving Hut a slighty disturbing experience. On the negative side, Vegansky Svet is a poor imitation of the Hut when it comes to the food quality.
The key problem is lack of freshness. The vegetables just were nowhere near fresh enough. Salad leaves that lacking freshness would be thrown out of a domestic fridge but at Vegansky Svet they are expected to be eaten.
There are clearly regular customers at Vegansky Svet especially as at lunchtime there seemed to be a few customers attending by themselves. The main lunch fare is a buffet which is paid for based on weight. The price is reasonable.
The food quality is not amazing. The various options tried by this traveller were not great, nothing especially tasty. The burger in particular was a bit unpleasant.
Vegan fast food is a good thing which is why the Loving Hut chain has spread so quickly. Vegansky Svet gives the impression of being a poor relation. It is below par.
