Description: Motto - Enjoy your time to "be here" ... What - Blue Wagon offers modern cuisine as it should be. We cook with quality, fresh and "primarily seasonal ingredients" that are processed by friendly, healthy methods. How - With the good food, we will recommend you suitable wines - we offer not only Czech, French or Spanish, but mostly Austrian wines, which we are happy to have the largest selection in Prague. Why - Great food and excellent wine would mean nothing without a perfect service. Your visit is always a honour to us, and therefore service is among the key indicators of your satisfaction. Where - Blue Wagon is located in Královské Vinohrady, Prague 2, close to the Square of Peace. Bright and airy interior will appeal to its simplicity and attention to detail. Something extra - We will prepare corporate meetings, business lunches, for teambuilding activities we offer tastings with our sommelier, or we will prepare special events on request. Or just come for a romantic dinner ...

The restaurant was really buzzing with locals and the waiting staff were helpfulness personified - nothing was too much trouble. We had a tasty salad as a starter, my husband had pheasant to follow and I had the venison ragout - both delicious. We also took a recommendation of a local wine - very reasonable and extremely gluggable! All in all a lovely place to spend an evening.

We chose this restaurant based on comments in TripAdvisor and were not disappointed. Blue Wagon is located near the Namesti Miru subway station, a bit outside the most touristic area of Prague. While most of the clients were foreigners when we dined there (it was Easter evening), it was clear that it was not one of the tourist traps so common in downtown Prague. The decor is modern and tidy, yet relaxed, and the service was friendly and attentive.

The menu offered an interesting selection of appetizers and main courses and the wine selection was outstanding. I opted for the soup of the day (pumpkin -- simple but perfectly seasoned and tasty) and pheasant breast (a suprisingly generous and juicy portion accompanied by vegetables), while my wife had grilled foie gras (beautifully prepared) and deer medallions (with a surprising coffee. Plating was quite sophisticated, without being pretentious. We both had Czech wines by the glass recommended by our waiter - a nice discovery that paired well with our respective orders.

We spent roughly 80 euros for two, including three courses and a few glasses of wines each -- a great value considering the quality of the food and service.

This was our second time at Blue Wagon. And though some restaurants are just there to meet friends and have a nice chat, this place is all about it's food. At least they got us and specially the kids wraped round there little finger. The menu has a broad variety of interesting food, there is a good choice of wines (try some of the czech ones). The food and the wine we had was both time a sheer delight. The only thing: this place might want to work on the choice of aperitifs.

So you might think there is a snap to it? Actually no. The prices a fair, there is nothing to complain about. Well, the only thing might be the pronounciation of the road "Uruguayska" - Hungarien road. Rather tell your cab driver you want to go to Blue Wagon restaurant. But if you are looking for a special light bulb moment about food - give it a shot and reserve a table at the Blue Wagon.

often stay in Prague 2 (Vinohrady), where there are good restaurants like Mozaika and Olympos and regret the closing of Passe-Partout. There are many restaurants that are pretentious and quite good and charge town centre prices but no great restaurants. Now with Blue Wagon here is the best new place I have been to in Prague for a long time. the food is at least 9/10. For a 4 course meal with wine and fresh juice at £40 per head is great value as we really pushed it

I went for dinner with a friend on a weekday night. We were a bit early and the place wasn't very full at all, but somehow this didn't really bother me. It's such a nice-looking venue, and it feels very warm and relaxing to spend some time here, especially in the corner seat by the window. The pumpkin soup and octopus / prawns we had for starters were lovely, beautifully served, but the real highlight was the main course, a sort of vol au vent with deer ragout and chestnuts. The meat was tender, the chestnuts deliciously sweet and the rich dark sauce was simply sublime. It had the perfect consistency and was bursting with taste. We also enjoyed a bottle of Pinot Noir which was very unique and went nicely with the dish. The service was attentive, polite and cheerful, and we left feeling very satisfied indeed.
