Awesome beer, great rustic/modern setting, very good food and kind waitstaff. The menu is limited to a few modernized Czech specialties, and it absolutely did not disappoint. I loved that it was only in Czech (but the waiter was extremely thorough in translating).

Would definitely recommend for an escape from the tourists - and some spectacular Czech beer and food. The kind of place you could easily hang out all night.

They have a very limited menu but what we ate was delicious. We found out after we ordered that they don't take credit cards. My husband had to go to an ATM down the street. Our waiter spoke pretty good English and wrote the translation of the menu for us as it is all in Czech. I had the leg of lamb which was excellent with mashed potatoes & veg; my husband had the goulash with potato dumplings and he said it was good and a little spicy.

Over the course of a week we visited this charming bar/restaurant 3 times, once for a couple of beers and twice for dinner. It's a small and stylish room located a little out of the way but not too far from the top end of Wenceslas Square and definately worth seeking out. This is a busy little place so bookings are recommended especially for dinner.
Firstly the beers, they have about half a dozen beers on tap, mostly small breweries like Kocour and Matuska, so if you are looking for a change from Pilsener Urquell and Budvar this is the place. There is a fairly mainstream unfiltered light and a dark from Uneticke, but the others are more interesting, a smoked beer ( my sons favourite ) , a lovely malty Scotch ale ( my wifes favourite ) a Belgian styled saison ( my favourite ) and an American pale ale style.
Secondly the food, they have a small but interesting menu, again a nice change from the sometimes huge menu books in some Prague establishments. The menu does change daily and the food is fresh and well presented. Over a two visits we had the lamb, steak, pork tenderloin and beef cheeks and every dish was delicious. The wine list is very good with some nice value bottles, we had a 2006 French red for around $20.
Finally the service, the front of house is run by two attractive identical twins, so be careful it's not double vision from your beers. They are both very pleasant and super efficient and on our second night had transcribed the Czech menu into English in advance for us, a thoughtful touch. I was in a wheelchair and they allowed me through the kitchen to enter and exit the restaurant via a level access.
In conclusion, a great restaurant where everything and everyone works well together, great food, beer, wine and service. Deserves to be right at the top of the list of Prague restaurants, can't recommend highly enough.

This restaurant maybe off the beaten track but it is worth the effort, serving high quality food alongside beautifully crafted beers. Excellent all round!
