Falkensteiner Hotel Maria Prag

Prague is a city where you don't really need too much from a hotel - provided you are reasonably located close to the Old Town (and this one is) then you can get easy access to all the bars and restaurants you need, so a hotel need only be a base. Maria fulfils this need admirably - the room is comfortable (with the most powerful shower I have had this year!), and the breakfast is nice (quite German style - bread, cheese, coffee, fruits - I think many of the hotel's guests are German. I really enjoy German breakfasts so this was great for me). The hotel also provides a free ticket to the Prague public transport for the duration of your stay, which is a nice touch in theory unless, like me, you have already bought the same thing at the airport to get to the hotel! The location is excellent if you plan to arrive or depart by train, very close to the main railway station.

I stayed there just one night and I think that this is standard business hotel. The style and services offered are at the level of other Falkensteiner hotels.
The only problem I could see was lack of parking spaces and if you were lucky and you could park in the yard (6 places for cars), you had to pay extra. On the other hand, once you pay, you can stay even after check-out. In my case, I checked-out at 8,30 a.m. and went for a meeting and I came back around 4,00 p.m. and no extra charge.

Stayed 2 nights in the Falkensteiner Hotel Maria Prag. Rooms vary - most have very high ceilings and the same decor but there are larger ones to very small ones where you almost fall into your bed upon entering the room. We were lucky and got a slightly larger room on the first floor with a nice bathroom, safe, small table & couch and table with chair. We were a group of 8 people and were given rooms on different floors. The first night/early morning was rather quiet, but from Sat to Sun night/morning guests were quite loud in the morning. And this was heard throughout the hotel by all of our friends on each floor. Also on Sunday morning breakfast was extremely full, waiters had a bit of a problem. Breakfast was nice: muesli, eggs, baked beans, toast & breads, jam, nutella, pastry etc. The hotel also offers sauna & fitness which we did not utilize.
If you can get a good rate, stay here - we got a great weekend rate of 105 Euros for 2 nights!
Throughout our stay we never needed a taxi or metro, we just walked.
Prague is a beautiful city with great sightes to see and very nice and friendly people!

+ hotel is really only about 3 minutes walk from central railway station
+ quite close to the city center (approx.10 minutes)
+ windows in the room can be opened, so you don't always need aircon

- door to bathroom is a sliding (milky glass) door (you hear everything!)
- hotel was quite loud early morning Sunday

We chose the Falkensteiner Maria Prag on the basis of favorable TripAdvisor reviews, We wanted a hotel within walking distance of the main strain station yet within walking distance of the principal sites of Prague, Booked two nights in a superior room. We were delighted with the spacious room, contemporary furnishings and modern bathroom. The room was very clean and comfortable. Despite being on a corner, we found the room quiet at night. The air conditioning was marginal but the windows opened so we could get a comfortable temperature for sleeping. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of quality breakfast fare. The included internet was secure and had a strong signal. All staff we dealt with were helpful and professional.

The hotel is an easy 5 minute walk from the train station and within walking distance of about most sites. We walked to the Castle but others might choose to take public transit.

We would definitely recommend the Maria Prag. We were not familiar with the Falkensteiner brand previously but would not hesitate to book one of their other hotels based on our experience with the Maria Prag.

Good location, 5 minutes walk to municipality hall..and 10 minutes to the old town.. Spacious clean rooms, nice breakfasts... But worst meeting rooms ever...
I think it was actually an old renovated building with large windows, It is good for a vacation, but not a good place for a business meeting...
They turned a dark underground room (which is also the noisiest) with no ventilation in to a meeting room..

I had the chance to spend few days at this hotel. The location is OK, just in front of the main train station, walking distance from Wenceslas Square (3-4 blocks), and not far from Old Town square. Although it is not a luxurious property, rooms are clean with two twin beds and all basic things you may need. Meeting rooms are small, but appropriate for one/two day meetings. Restaurant is not the best feature, room service is very limited, although breakfast is ok. In summary, it may be a convenient choice if you want a place to rest while your main objective is tourism.

Location is often an issue, but when this hotel claims to be "in the heart of Prague", they are telling the truth. The neo-classical building is situated no more than 10 minutes from the Old Town Square and no more than 15 minutes walk from pretty much everything else, including the famous Charles Bridge.
We opted for the deluxe double room at €120 per night over an April weekend, very reasonable. The room was a good size and pleasantly furnished in modern, minimalist style. The buffet breakfast was excellent with every imaginable option available.
Staff were efficient and pleasant, particularly when requesting a room stay extension. See the Top Tip below.

Room Tip: Top Tip: if you wish to linger till later in the day, you can book up until 5p.m. for a mere €20, tr...
