the location and internet facilities aregreat. Location is the best. the astronomical clock is behind the hotel, the hotel being part of the clock and town hall building complex bulit in the 14 th centuryand of course the old town square is 12 minute walk with all the restos, shops to walk around.
what is poor are..the expected "hotel" facilities were not present like elevator to bring up your luggage.. there is none so i carry my luggage one flight up i was lucky vs 2 or 3 flights up. shower.. you can not stand up properly and the bathtub no small and no shower curtain. noisy at night because there is a bar downstairs and taxi stand. In the morning at 7 am, the garbage trucks start picking up trash in front of hotel. no aircon in hotel but it was nice weather is sept

The location of this hotel cannot be surpassed, but the amenities leave a lot to be desired. There is no elevator, and no restroom on the ground floor. One receptionist was absolutely terrible, unfriendly and rude, but the other two were charming and helpful. The breakfast was fine, plenty to eat in a clean but small breakfast room. Our room was at the top of the hotel and the stairs were not a problem for us, but I can't imagine that many people would like climing four flights of stairs several times per day. Our room was spacious, but the bed uncomfortable. There was a fan which was helpful since their was no air conditioning. The bathtub/shower had no shower curtain and we flooded the floor every time we showered. I saw on the outside of the building that the world Penzion had been painted over, and my guess is the owners decided they could make more money as a hotel. All that aside, the hotel is close to everything! Several wonderful restaurants were within walking distance, and we walked to all the major sights in Prague. If you want a reasonably-priced hotel in a fantastic location and don't mind putting up with some discomfort, this is a great hotel.

Room Tip: Room 16 was very quiet and spacious.

Beware, This hotel has no elevator. I called and asked for a room on the top floor and as far away from the elevator as possible. They negleted to inform me that they did not have and elevator. I witnessed several guests complain about the same issue. I booked through Bookings.com and their site gave no warning concerning the lack of an elevator. The room was very, very small and the breakfast room did not accommodate half the hotel's guests, making waiting every morning a necessity.

Room Tip: Senoirs should request a large room on a lower floor.

The building is a very old one. Given that all building in the old Prague city looks like the same, we don't thing it is a big issue but rather interesting. Need to climb up the long staircase going back to my room and I believe it's a wooden one? Interesting as well but a when u r carrying heavy luggage u would hear weir sound and seems the staircase can't afford the weight. Location is excellent and close to everything.
However, don't expect anything inside your room. You can't feel any cool air from the air-con and turn out have to rely on the fan. The renovation is very old and the room is tiny. It is rather noisy outside as well. Breakfast is very basic.

We had a family room which was large and okey, but for five days we had a dominating smell of food in our bathroom. Probably from the connecting restaurant. It smelled garlic and tomatosauce. The mattresses were horrible and that I didn't get a lumbago was a miracle! The doors are thin so we often woke up and heard other guests coming home at night. Staff didn't smile once at us even if we always greated them. Breakfast was the worst ever! We even saw one of the staff smoking while preparing it in a connecting room. We wouldn't stay here again even if the hotel in one way is charming and the location couldn't be better. Everything is within walking distance!!! It was also nice that we could borrow DVD films for free one very cold and rainy afternoon.

Room Tip: I guess some rooms are renovated because when some doors were open during cleaning we could see that...

Chose the hotel as 1 of the party had stayed before. Just off old town square and a great location to see the old town and only 5 min walk from the river & Charles Bridge.
Room was basic but clean. No aircon so slept with windows open and used the noisy fan. Not the best in July. Also could get outside noise due to the central busy location.
Breakfast was continental and quite reasonable.
Worst point was that the receptionist claimed the card machine wasn't working and needed a cash payment which was a huge inconvenience especially as we had given card to confirm the booking, which could be used when the machine is working. The miserable receptionist would not have this and insist that the 6 individuals in our party went out to get the cash from cash points. I think most travellers know that this is scam used by small hotels to be paid cash!! Clearly they could have put the payment through via card when the machine was working. Also they charge for the coffee & tea you use in your room which to me is unheard of. Based on the miserable & unhelpful receptionist we would not stay here again and will source a different hotel for the trip we have planned to Prague next year.

This beautiful, historic hotel is just around the corner from the Old Square in the heart of Old Prague. Although built many hundreds of years ago, the hotel is comfortable with friendly, helpful staff and a wonderful atmosphere, full of character and the long history it carries. Although this hotel isn't the cheapest place to stay, it has the best and most convenient location and the time and money you will save on catching public transport will make up for the higher charge. If I ever come back to this beautifully preserved mediaeval city, I want to stay at this hotel again.
