It is always nice to check out a city's Natural History Museum. For one thing you get to see more locals, and local kids.
The museum is in a beautiful building, mostly quiet, with high ceilings. Lots of colorful marble.
I particularly liked the plant fossils: lots of lizardy bark and leaves and cones. There are many rooms of minerals, and some stuffed animals. A few signs are in English. For a small fee you can photograph everything except the gem display.
They are proud of their whale skeleton, for which they paid a lot in 1885, so they could be one of the few landlocked european countries with a set of whale bones.
