We hadn't planned to go to this, only discovering the event on a poster whilst waiting for a tram. Tickets in the 'gods' were 290 krowns each ... Expected to have problem with height, but none at all . Seats were very comfy, with legroom and supporting rail to lean on. The performance was great, with prague ballet throwing some cool shapes throughout, especially along with the overture which is quite unusual.

One American couple that we spoke to were clearly very disappointed by this production, but we had enjoyed it thoroughly. The sets were provocative and the staging extremely sexy. Donna Elvira's bright red panties were on and off in frequent succession, but this was no mere gimmick and made sense in terms of Don Juan's sexual escapades. I found the interpretation clarified much for me and revealed depths in the opera that I had not previously appreciated.

Estates theatre is one of the top music venues in Prague. We went there for an opera, and even splurged on a box seat, although by American standards, the ticket price was cheap. It was thrilling to look down on the audience and the orchestra pit, and realize that the great Mozart himself conducted some of his operas there! In fact, he found greater support and enthusiasm in Prague with his operas than he did in Vienna.

The Estates Theatre is in a lovely part of town and is a relatively small venue for an opera house. Whether you have a box seat or not, you will enjoy your time there.

We went to see Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro Opera which was exciting because he performed the same opera centuries ago in that same theater :D We are on a tight budget so we bought the cheapest seats that were available, but it was very uncomfortable :( if you have to buy try finding something affordable close to the middle or you will end up with neck pain! Anyway the Opera was amazing, the acoustic was perfect and I really liked the venue.. take my advice as a person who doesn't attend Operas often since there are not many where I come from. The only thing I have to complain is the rude employees at the entrance.. I asked them a couple of questions and they responded like I was a criminal or something.. ughh anyway besides that..is a great experience and a perfect date place!

A lovely night at the opera, what is more! Cosi Fan Tutte, in a modern setting and modern dress, but beautifully staged and sung. This was a night to remember. The building itself is magnificent and all the balcony is little boxes. The pair of us had a box to ourselves, with an excellent view. You can't help thinking at a Mozart opera that he was here himself to conduct . It is quite rightly rather dressy- all adding to the sense of occasion. Extraordinarily good value (something over €40 per person) for a wonderful night.
