If you don't feel to walk up you can use the same ticket of the tram/bus (I don't get what happens with all these people complaining about validating or not the tickets! It is so easy to just put the tickets inside the thousands of yellow machines they got every where when you start you journey)!
Enjoy the stroll through the numerous gardens and have fun!
=)

We hiked from the bottom admiring the park and the views as we were ascending. At the tower we decided to pay for the elevator. I think it was worth it. It was hot and the stairs would have been too tiring. On top you have 360 panoramic views of all of Prague . If your time is limited I would skip it otherwise worth the effort . You can also take the funicular but you still have to hike the rest of the way.

I was slightly underprepared for how hard the hike up the hill would actually be. I'm not particularly fit, and made the stupid decision of putting trousers on when the day turned out to be 26˚C. However, halfway up we found a nice little cafe-like shop to grab a drink and a sandwich (albeit at pretty inflated prices) which was a good place to refuel before getting up to the top. We spent some time in the rose garden up there, and wandering around a bit, but none of us were in the mood for the walk up the tower steps. We took some photos, and were quite surprised that at the very top of the hill near the tower, there isn't really a clear view of the city like there is a little further down the hill, and then took a much slower walk back down.

You need to climb a few mountains to reach the tower. Then, you need to climb 300 stairs to get to the top of the tower. But after you get over the cardiac arrest, you realize it was all worth it. The view is incredible and you cant see Prague any better way. Do it!!
