Nice place to go with a funicular, it offers a great view from the tower. To go to the tower top I recommend stairs, it's cheaper and a nice (and not so tiring) exercise and you can make awesome photos on the way up.

This was our best day!

We walked to the railway but the line was too long and too slow so started walking up the hill.

There are several paths but if you go to the right past the play ground half way up is a bar/resturant,so you can have a coffee or a Czeck beer use the toilet and then head up to the tower. There is a small charge to climb up but it's well worth it for the best view by far of the old town.

We really enjoyed going up the hill by the little tram that goes straight up the side of the hill. It was cheap and you can really see over the city of Prague. The park at the top was really clean and easy to get around. The tower was very pretty and the area around it. BUT...in November it is only open on Saturday from 10 o´clock and we had to leave, so didn´t get to go to the top. We will have to go back next time. I think it would be worth it!

Well worth getting the funicular railway and heading on up to Petrin Hill (entrance for the railway at the bottom is concealed by the tourist info sign!....there was a whole circle of people making the detor around the small block till they found the entrance).....at the top is a small Eiffel Tower structure which is charming....nice tea room which as an Englishman is always a must and then a great place to walk down and across to an abbey, government buildings etc......brilliant views and not expensive

Worth a look for a break from the busy centre but as its winter the gardens were understandably bare. We took funicular up the hill then took the lift up the actual tower for the views but could have missed that out really as you get a superb view from the hilltop.
