“Peacocks, and a place for rest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2014

The garden is very near to the Castle (but below the castle grounds). It is located INSIDE senate area and have multiple entrances. The easiest one to find is one nearer to the castle. The garden areas where several peacocks roam (with pond) and other tree-lined areas that can be walked around.

“What a Surprise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014

The gardens are open daily (as I understand it). We went on Sunday to combine a visit to the gardens with a visit to the palace (the Senate). The gardens are magnificent and beautifully kept. The drip stone wall is unlike anything else I have ever seen. Then there are the peacocks (how appropriate for a Senate garden).

“Free amazing gardens near the castle”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2014 via mobile

I'd recommend you try and stop by here on your way up to the castle. It will break up the walk and these gardens are simply amazing. They are well kept and very nicely presented.
We stumbled upon them by accident and were very thankful. There's an owl enclosure (10 large owls), some lovely grassy areas, fountains, lots of flowers and some amazing architecture surrounding it all.
Great photo opportunities await those who make it inside!
Best of all it's free, and on a nice sunny day it's easy to spend 30 mins relaxing and walking around.

“Relaxing weekend break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2014

Just round the corner from St Nicholas Church a stunning garden with a superbly, massive artificial wall constructed in ''petrified looking fossil type stone '' where you look to fing hidden creatures and faces. The gardens are also excellent with a lovely large pond holding Koi fish. Easy to spend an hour or two here to relax and put ones feet up
