Owner description: One of the symbols of Prague, the Church of the Virgin Mary Before Tyn is the dominant feature in the Old Town. The church was built in the 14th century and used to be a primary place of worship for foreign merchants visiting the city.

Architecture at its best! Old Town Square is really beautiful thanks to this church and the Astronomical Clock (of course).

When this church and its gothic spires were light up on a night, it had to be the most magical sight i've ever seen. I instantly understood where Walt Disney must have taken his idea from for his sleeping beauty castle.

The church is located on the main square, and the narrow entry is between 2 houses in front (it is bang opposite the astronomical clock across the fountain).
It is closed on Monday and on sunday, only till 12.30PM. So we could not visit the church from inside as we were these only those 2 days and reached the square in the afternoon.
but we saw the church interiors from the entrance n they are beautiful :)

Even if you are not religious, you must visit as many churches as you can. They are beautiful and pretty much, always open.

The interior of this church is not like any others I've seen. Like many other churches in this world, it's beautiful, but it's also very unique. Almost every pillar has its own altar- the place is popping with them. In the words of my guidebook (Rick Steves), "the once elegant and pure Gothic columns are now encrusted with noisy Baroque altars". It's definitely worth a look, and doesn't take too long to go inside and check it out.
As others have mentioned, it's a bit hard to get to- you have to go in a passageway between the buildings that were built in front of the church (facing Old Town Square). You can also pass through Via Musica to get to the passageway.
