We had a good stay at the King George hotel. After reading a few reviews I was surprised how good my room looked. We had a spacious recently renovated bathroom with bad tube. The only thing, their wasn't a a shower curtain, so the floor was getting wet when we're taking a shower. I mentioned this on the day we arrived at the reception, they told me they didn't couldn't fix it while I was staying their. The ladies at the reception we're really friendly and the location of this hotel is awesome! If I'm going for another partyweek in Prague I would definitely stay in King George again.

OK, being honest: we did not want to pay too much. And the location in the middle of the city center is fine. But if you have a room on the street side the nights are too noisy to sleep (if it's not the sounds your neighbours make). Asking for another, more quitely positioned room results in a 'self guided tour' along the four other rooms available (because the young lady present at the bar (not reception) hardly speaks any foreign language. As a result we did find a smaller but more quite room. And.. the elevator doesn't function anymore (obviously for a longer period already).

Liked the hotel a lot in earlier years-perfext location, good service,24 h reception, card pay option and english speaking staff.
Nowerdays there is no reception at all, except for a lady who does bot speak a word of english which makes communication difficult. Payments only in cash, super early checkout (10:00) and no place to leave the luggage. Very sad, will look for another place next time!

We stayed some seven days in the King George. Location is great, quite near all the main attractions in Prague, but still in a very quiet street. The rooms are large and spacious, with a homely atmosphere. Bath and beds are nice too. Would return for sure.

Room Tip: The rooms in the attic are specially cozy.

Would not call this a hotel but a place that lets out rooms and then you fend for your self. First the good points. Location is brilliant. Every thing is very clean, sheets lovely crisp and white, bathroom spotless. The not so good points. We had the loft room which was 3 floors up with no lift. Did not feel very safe regarding fire and emergency exit. As for the reception well we just did not have one. They asked when we booked as to time of arrival. We in fact was half hour early. Every thing was locked so we had to stand on the street waiting for half hour which thankfully a woman arrived to take our money and give us key. That was the last we saw of her or anyone. Every day it was all locked up. Could never ask for advice or help, no chance of leaving bags there on last day after check out. Breakfast was ok with a little lady in the back ground clearing tables with not a word of English.

The “House at King George’s” perches above two pubs on a narrow side street. The rooms are pretty bare but have a bit more charm than they used to. The ceilings are high, and the dark wooden furniture is another improvement. Ask for a room in back if you want to deaden the clamor of the pubs below. Breakfast is served in the wine cellar, which lacks character despite a recent remodeling.
