“Safe hostel and helpful staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2013 via mobile

Spent 3 nights here in early July - hostel is located a bit out of the main town but this wasn't an issue as the public transport was easy to navigate and reliable! Staff were very helpful and friendly! Overall was really happy with the stay here :)

Yeah the actual hostel is self was really chilled out and had an awesome bar area as well as beer garden that you could relax in after long days of exploring Prague. The only issue I had with the place is it was a little over priced for what you get, even though we were a group of 5 that were paying good money we got shoved in the room next to the street so your stuff never felt safe unless you locked it all up and shut the room. Then on the other hand it was very hot but we were provided with 2 pedestal fans to cool down 10 people. The location is a bit annoying but not too bad as the transport it really easy and cheap. Main issue is one or two of the staff members were tools to a lot of the guests. Although this may sound bad I would still go back because apart from these few things Sir Toby's was awesome

I chose this hostel based on the reviews for solo travellers as it was the first time I'd travelled alone. It was perfect. It was a little further out than some of the other hostels, but the trams & metro system are so easy (and ridiculously cheap)!! I also walked into the Old Town to work out where I was and get in the map a bit, and it only took about 40 minutes which didn't feel that long at all.

The atmosphere in the hostel is ridiculous! It's so so welcoming and comforting. I went straight down into the bar area and chatted with the barman who gave me plenty of ideas of places to go. The beer is about £1 so it's easy to have a few too many, but there are plenty of games and people to talk to.

The rooms are perfectly adequate. Really cute decor. Just the best place to stay - would definitely go back if in Prague!!

Good hostel with good atmosphere in the bar, you really feel comfortable there and they give you a lot of facilities and advices to make a good trip there. The only thing is that is not in the center, but is very easy to get there with the tram. Also, the staff was very nice and polite.

I stayed in Sir Tobys in June 2013 during a tour in Europe. This was the best hotel of my trip. It was cheaper than Paris and Londres and the room was so much bigger (private room for 2 people). Great staff, they take the time to give all the information you need. You can have all you can eat breakfast for 2 Euros. And the best: it has its own Pub! Cool place to relax and meet people after the long day walk.

Sir Toby's staff is absolutely amazing. Warm, receptive, helpful...you name it, they are it!! I was especially impressed with how knowledgeable they were of the area ("Sir Toby's Map of Prague" was an added bonus, with the main highlights of the city featured, a list of helpful locations near to the hostel AND a list of helpful Czech phrases - very neat and incredibly useful!!). I also loved that no matter what experience you were looking for-whether you wanted to enjoy a drink in the basement pub with a bunch of people, relax in the garden, or enjoy the peace and quiet of your room-it was easily accessible. Despite how busy the hostel was, it is large and spacious enough that I didn't feel crowded by the other guests at all. Needless to say, I was very happy with my stay and I can't wait to return.

Room Tip: I'd recommend requesting a higher floor to avoid potential noise. I stayed on the 3rd floor and...

Stayed in the blue sky room with 2 other friends. Very clean and big rooms. Lovely underground pub/breakfast area. Lifts are available.
The staff really went out of their way to help us out and explore the city. Wasn't close to city but we could purchase tram tickets at hostel reception. Very happy with their service
