I reserved a double room with a low ceiling in advance, for one night during the week. We arrived late in the evening, and while the staff was always very nice and helpful, the room and location were awful. To wit: noisy street with shops open until the wee hours; no shade for the window; terrible mattress; Dirty floor; dark and treacherous stairwell.

While the hostel is very close to old town square, which is nice, the street noise kept us up despite the use of earplugs. We fashioned a window shade out of a white bedsheet (not that helpful but better than nothing), and were first able to find the stairwell lights the next morning. The low ceiling was never an issue, and the bathroom was clean though only had one dim lightbulb working that made it hard to see in the shower. Overall a bad experience.

Stayed there for three nights - and that was definitely enough. The locaton is reall top, beds are ok and rooms in common simple but ok too.
BUT staff was really unfriendly and not really helpfull (even most of the time did not greet, what would be the least!)
As well I had booked a private room with an own bathroom. There we got a "private" bathroom with own key - but about 10, 15 metres away from our room! Not very nice when you have to go up at night and drunk persons are screeming outside at the floors every night - and nobody cares...
Our room and our socalled private bathroom were really dirty!!! And also got just one mini towel per person which we had to use alle three days long!

Well, I must say that I didn't expect nearly this much from Ritchie's. But from the moment we entered Ritchie's Hostel, everything was JUST GREAT. We were travelling as a group (84 students plus 2 bus drivers) and all of us were more then happy.

Location is just perfect, Karlova street, just few steps from legendary Charles Bridge. People at the reception, especially Petra, were very helpfull and whole group would like to thank them for their perfect service.

Common room was really a BIG HIT and we love it. It was place where we were partying before we went out around midnight. There were no complaints from staff even though we were loud (but very fun). I also really liked kitchen were you can find TV with close to 200 channels. Rooms were very comfortable with good beds. Internet WiFi connection is pretty good when it's working (not the case all the time because a lot of guests).

I would certainly reccomend this hostel. It's clean, location is amazing and staff is fantastic. I would certainly stay in Ritchie's next time I'm in Prague. Ritchie's Hostel rules!

We stayed there for 3 nights at the beginning of Feb. We had reserved a mini-dorm but since there weren't many guests they let us stay in an en suite room for the same price. Breakfast was for free but that's also a seasonal offer. The room and the bathroom were both clean and warm. Smoking is allowed in common areas. There is a well equipped kitchen available to all. Very friendly staff. They accepted payments in Euros even for small things like a cup of tea at a reasonable rate. We really enjoyed the calm of Prague in winter.

An otherwise perfect hostel ( clean room, good price, comfortable beds, great staff and amazing location) was ruined for us because the door to our room leads directly into the common area where no "quiet time" was being enforced (we like to party too, but we were woken by table dancers screaming along to music at 6am!). I would seriously suggest to the owner to install some better insulated doors and windows (as it is also along a high foot traffic street) which is the only thing this hostel is lacking. Other than the noise we had a great time, absolutely wonderful staff and great beds!! If you don't plan on sleeping much, this place is for you!
