The hotel is about 3 stops out of prague (18kr for 5 stops on the UNDERGROUND metro) in what I would call a semi rundown area, not BAD but not hotel sparkley.

The hotel has very much a old style lobby that when we were there was filled with school groups (not just ours I think there was about 4 groups there from 8-18 age),
The rooms were great for just sleeping in, interesting duvet cover but not a issue.

Breakfast was possibly the worst bit but with a supermarket just down the road it was not a issue.

Shaggy surroundings but very central. 10 minutes by metro from central Prague .. 3-4 minutes walk to metro and tram station and local supermarket.
Entrance felt like Eastern Europe in the late 70´s, but clean, quiet rooms, comfortable beds and breakfast was allright. Nice guest mix of different ages from various countries.

Old style hotel. Staff is very rude, does not understand English. No internet at all in the rooms possible, only in the lobby for 5 Euro/day. Smallest TV ever had in the room with a few international channels, remote not working. Bathroom- not accaptable, very dirty, not maintenaned. Shower head damaged, after comlaints nothing happens. Towels at least 20 years old, no amenities, hair dryer does not work. Parking is 10 Euro/day, but the card which should open the barriers does not work. Tube/metro station is quite far - good 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Breakfast is poor.

We booked this hotel through a travel agency that gave us a very good offer. However, after reading the reviews here, I was very worried about what we might find once we got there.
Future travellers, rest assured, there is nothing to fret about. The hotel is more than decent, clean, newly furbished, with working elevators and good service. The receptionist even allowed us to check in before the official time (we arrived at 9 a.m. and the check in was at 2 p.m.), without having to ask her for the favour.
The room is equipped with a minibar, a telephone, a TV set, a safe, a hair drier and its own bathroom. Room service is also available.
The Invalidovna metro station is less than 5 minutes away and you can clearly see one of the Olympik Hotel logos (there are several set next to each other) as soon as you exit the station, so there’s no way of missing it. There’s also a supermarket right next to the metro station, so you can get some grocery shopping done there when you return from a busy day of sight seeing.
Although the hotel is not set in the heart of the city, it is located very close to the metro station and the means of transportation in Prague are extremely efficient and easy to use. You will not need to ask for any directions as there are numerous panels set at every station, guiding your every step. The hotel will also provide a small holder for the access card to your room which has the entire subway map on it. It is extremely practical and easy to carry around and we got to keep ours and use it after checking out on our last day as we took advantage of our last hours as tourists in Prague.
The only downside that I could point out was breakfast which I found quite disappointing. The buffet type breakfast would probably satisfy those looking for all-you-can-eat places, however I cannot say anything particularly good on the quality of the food. Breakfast is fresh, however most things pretty much have no taste and are rubbery or simply salty or sweet, lacking any flavour whatsoever. The coffee was bad, as was the diluted milk. On the other hand, the menu is extremely varied (cheese, butter, cold cuts, three or four types of salads with dressing, several types of cereal, yoghurt, bread, buns, pound cake, hot dogs or sausages, etc.) so chances are you will find something to your liking in the end. The other good news is that they generally introduce a new dish every three days or so, which means that you can probably try something new every once in a while – we got pasta on our last day, for example.
The room is very clean and all towels are changed every day, while the bed sheets are changed every couple of days. The hotel is safe and offers a very good price and despite the fact that it is mostly occupied by groups travelling on tour buses, you will probably not get to come in contact with any noisy large groups of tourists except during breakfast and perhaps when the occasional loud teenager is heard laughing in the hallway late at night, but that is nothing to put you off from staying at Hotel Olympik Tristar.

Prague 8, district in which the hotel is situated, seems to be far from Historical Center (Prague 1), but is only 3 minutes walking to Invalidovna Metro Station, and 4 stations to the center. So, the position is quite ok.
We were traveling with voucher from a Travel Agency and it was a very comfortable price for 3 nights, suitable for a city break.
The room was absolutely ok, minding the only purpose: sleeping for night.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The breakfast (included) was Swedish Buffet type, not Continental one, but very varied menu.
The only inconvenient is exactly the low price for groups, allowing access of young people, which are noisy all the time (was ok for us).
The parking is always full of big buses from all over the Europe and not only.
The hotel is part of resort, classified with 3 stars. There is another two, with 4 stars, Artemis and Olympik, which has a Casino and, maybe many amenities.

we stayed here as part of a group tour. its far from city centre, and in a not so nice looking location. abt 10min walk to metro which is oretty good and takes you right into the heart of prague. no restaurants or anything to do around the hotel. the room was just ok, dusty, not too clean, but in working order, same with the bathroom, it was functional though not the cleanest. breakfast was nothing to write about, below aeverage continental. we had dinner at restaurant one nigth as part of tour and that was pretty bad. lifts are slow and hotel caters a lot for younger tour groups of school kids, the 2 nites we were there they made such a racket in the hallway, running from room to room, banging doors and just being loud that we couldnt get any sleep. there is a large open space in front of lifts on each floor and they were playing with a soccer ball in that area. a few ppl from our tour grouyp and also hotel customers went dwon to complain, i think the kids were told to quieten down and they would do so for some time, then start up again. most annoying

I stayed in this hotel when I visited Prague for the first time.

Hotel is very good and every part and corner in the hotel shows that its big chain of hotels. Everything is of hotel standard and comfortable. The hotel is divided by a road and there are different classes between the sides of the road. You have a range of rooms to select which suits you.

It is connected well by all means of transport name it - Tram / Train / Bus / private transport facilities etc which makes it convenient for you.

Don't expect elevator - I could not see in other few hotels also in Prague.
