My partner and I spent our first anniversary at the Boscolo Hotel in Prague.
We enjoied our stay and we would like to come back sometimes.
The room was clean and well decorated, the bathroom was huge!
The spa was very beautiful and relaxing.
Also all the hotel is elegant, very well maintained and the location is perfect not too far and not too close to the city centre (5 mins walk)

A beautiful hotel in the center of Prague. It was only a few minutes walk from the main train station in Prague. The hotel is a converted mortgage bank, so had an interesting check in desk which was actually a meeting desk rather than a counter.
The check in was efficient and easy and our host provided a city map with directions to the main sites of Prague, all which were within a short walk of the hotel.
The room was clean, well stocked with toiletries for the stay. There was also a robe and slippers to use when going to the beautiful pool.
The only complaint I have, is the high price of Internet access. I find this very disappointing for a hotel of the high standard that the Boscolo has, especially as it is part of the Marriott Autograph Collection.
Other than he Internet pricing, the Boscolo is an exceptional hotel

Some parts of the hotel is all up to 5 star rating but some are not,

First of all the building itself and the common areas are stunning. The hotel is a beautiful historic building. Lovely entryway, grand stairs, enormous reception area, beautiful bar and restaurant and the mix between modern and old is done in a very good way. However during our stay the connon areas seemed a bit deserted. We were at every evening alone in the huge bar. The cosy cigar bar didn't have any service. Open for seating but the bar was closed. It seemed like the hotel was all empty even though we found out later is was fully booked. The prices in the bar is way overpriced for Prague, even compared to other expensive places, and this may be the reason why it seemed like few people took advantage of the facilities.

The pool area is amazing and we used it every morning and sometimes in the evenings too. One of the best pool areas in any hotel. The only thing lacking was a warm jaccuzi. What looks like a jaccuzi on the pictures is an area with the same water as the large pool and therefore also at the same temperature. Still nice to be sitting in the bubbles. Also good service with tea and fruits.

We booked a standard room. These are all located in a new wing. At the first look everything seems new and modern but that is only on the surface. It looks like they have done some surface renovation but underneath the good looks everything seems old and a bit out of date. The rooms are not tiny but maybe a little bit on the small side.

One example is the telephone system. Instead of having a button for room service, reception, house keeping etc you need to choose from 1-3 4 digit numbers to call. If the line is busy - try the next. Very outdated.

The internet system is also outdated. First we were quite surprised when logging on to the wi-fi because it stated we had to pay even as guests. I think that at every full service 5-star hotels this should be free as it is something used for daily life in this century. We bought a 3 day subscription but in 5 minutes a guy came to the door with a voucher saying we should not pay and that we should choose that we were hotel guests (but we did). However giving the voucher we logged in and we were on-line. This voucher only worked only for 3 days (of a 4 day stay) and on the last day we lost connection. We called to the reception and they brought another voucher to the room for the last day. Upon check-out we found out we were charged even though but they were quick in removing the charge when we told them that we were told it was for free. We didn't understand anything of this system with the voucher/payment or whatever happened. If wi-fi is indeed for free we didn't understand why the reception didn't notice this charge when going through the bill or how they are at all able to charge - if it is supposed to be for free.

The bathroom seems to be old underneath the newer fixures. One can see that things have been changed and tried upgrading but that underneath it is old because it just doesn't match. The bathtub is in plastic or something. Seems really cheap. The bathrooms in the standard rooms are also quite small.

On out 2nd day water started leaking out of the ceiling underneath the air condition. We called to the reception and they sent a maintenance who opened the ceiling. It was a condensation problem that made the ceiling leak and they explained it was a new a/c unit there which seemed not to be installed properly. They were very nice about the thing and said they would move us to another room but since they were full this would be even smaller than the one we got. We had seen some open doors leading to really small rooms when walking in the hallways and we declined to move to something even smaller. The next day they called to our room and said now they had spare rooms and would give us an upgrade.

We were shown 3 different rooms. The one in the new wing was large and more comfortable and the ones in the old wing facing the street had incredibly high ceilings and were much more special and beautiful. This wing was completely different from the new with large hallways, high ceiling and a really grand old feeling. Completely different. Still the rooms were not very spacious but the design and the old look made up for it. Still in these room one could feel that the hotel was a bit out of date behind the grand facade. The same old telephone system of course but also a lack of sockets made it hard to charge phones, ipads, computers etc. which most people use today.

The location is absolutely perfect. It is a bit off the main tourist draw of the old city but still only a few minutes away. It was quite relaxing to get out of the busy area before arriving at the hotel.

The service, except for the strange telephone and internet etc., is very good. Smiling employees and especially one guy in the reception who made us the upgrade were incredibly service minded! Also the doorman is very nice alltough sometimes he was a bit too "salesman" when suggesting restaurants (almost like he had a kick back from the places he suggested).

Would we stay again? Well... yes probably or maybe... You get a beautiful building with stunning common areas. However the rooms are not fitting the modern world and the quality of the rooms are a bit of hit or miss. And everything in the hotel is hugely overpriced. If you want to stay in a lovely historic buliding - yes. If you are in need of modern aminities or can't bare to pay hugely overpriced drinks then don't.

Room Tip: Pay for an upgrade and ask for room in the old wing.

A very enjoyable 3 night stay with my wife. Hotel and room were very good, although a little noisy through the night overlooking the square. The hotel spa was as good as any I have been to. Prague itself is a wonderful city with lots to do and see, although I have to say we were extremely lucky with the weather for the second half of September.
Highly recommended.

This is, quite simply, one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at (and I travel A LOT for business and pleasure). To me, there is no other choice of hotel in Prague. The architecture of the hotel (it is a historic bank and post office) is first class all the way with a huge marble-laden entry hall. The rooms are high quality but it is really the staff that finally sets this hotel apart from others. They are attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and professional and should be held up as a model for others to follow. Then, on top of everything else, there is a fantastic spa in the basement (this is a must after long days of walking around beautiful Prague). The final kicker is the value: in the United States I would expect a hotel of such quality (with spa included) to easily cost twice as much. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about such a fantastic hotel.

Room Tip: If it's your first trip to Prague it could be a good idea to mention that upon check-in ;-)...

Spent 5 nights here and was impressed by the professionalism of the employees--from the personnel at the desk (more on that below), to the bellcap at the front door.

As another reviewer mentioned, I too wish the location was closer to the center of town, and further from the metro.

Positives:
Room was large, clean and quiet,, with a nice sized bathroom.
Ventilation system worked very efficiently to maintain temperature.
Bed was comfortable.

Only negatives were relatively small:
In a hotel of this size, it was surprising that there were only 2 desks for check-in/out, etc.
Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. No matter what time I was there, the eggs were always luke warm, and the service rather inattentive--even for Prague.

Those two items aside, this was a nice place to stay and would consider it again.

My husband booked this hotel for us on the recommendation of the company who organise his business travel. We were celebrating my birthday and our wedding anniversary and were hoping it would not disappoint. On our arrival, we were mistaken for another, evidently more important, couple of the same name and offered a room upgrade and food and drinks in a lounge area whilst we waited for our room to be made ready. When we (reluctantly!) pointed out the mistake to the member of staff, she said that, as she had offered us an upgrade, she would stick to her promise. It was a very nice gesture that she didn't have to make but one that we appreciated greatly.

The hotel and our room were palacial. When we went to our room, we were greeted with hand made chocolate truffles, strawberries and chilled champagne, which made it even more special. The room and bathroom were huge and extremely well appointed with extra touches that made it even better - an enormous comfortable bed, interior lit wardrobes, bathrobes, slippers, luxurious lotions and potions, a fantastic shower, silent airconditioning, etc, etc. We couldn't have asked for more.

In my opinion, one of the best things about it was that once we had closed the curtains, there was no noise, either inside or outside the hotel and we both slept extremely well. I hate sleeping in new places where I am constantly being woken up either by other guests arriving or leaving their rooms or traffic/people noise from outside, so this was heaven! As we spent each day walking miles around Prague, a good night's sleep to recover and refresh was essential.

Breakfasts in the hotel were excellent - just about anything you could want was provided in luxurious surroundings.

Other reviewers have mentioned the location. It is a couple of blocks' walk away from the main shopping and tourist area but I felt it was a bonus as those areas were incredibly busy each day and it was nice to return to a haven of peace each evening.

All the staff we encountered were very cheery, helpful and polite - everything that you could ask for, really.

We didn't take advantage of the hotel restaurant, cocktail bar or spa so can't comment on that.

All in all, we had a great time and I really cannot fault this hotel. If we go back to Prague, we will definitely stay here again.
